FR has become such a pit of ignorant nattering nabobs of negativity towards practically anything Trump does (or doesn’t do), it’s a waste of time to read the comments anymore ... I guess all of these ignorant fools would have been much happier if Hillary had won in 2016 ... maybe they can support her in 2020 ...

So then that means your metric for a good, good choice would be for Lindsey Graham to announce he’d do everything in his power to obstruct the nomination

It's not the only one, but it's certainly one of the metrics I would use.

“FR has become such a pit of ignorant nattering nabobs...”

Agreed. What is increasingly rare on this site is any application of reason. I have a hard time believing some of these folks aren’t liberal plants.

I don’t recall years ago on FR people acting like they can somehow sound smart by simply name-calling without any data or arguments. And purifying the party down to just Trump and whichever commenter can blacklist everybody else first.

There is only one swamp-like bit of information I see in this story so far. It is that Trump chose Sessions instead of who he thought was best (Barr) simply out of loyalty.

I still like Trump, but that is a swamp move. The foundation of the swamp is built on loyalty trumping reason.

Personally, I still would have initially thought Sessions would be better than Barr mostly because he had AG experience that was not DC-based and a good right wing record generally. It did not work out well, but there were better reasons to pick him than loyalty.

Lindsay Graham is making some good moves since he got out from under the wing of that a--hole, McCain.

He was great in the Kavanaugh hearings. And now saying he'd support Barr for the AG spot is signaling some good leadership on the Judicial Committee.

Smart pick by Trump. Especially the week that the democRATS and the MSM are praising GHWBush, Barr's boss.

Agree with you. I sometimes think some of Trump’s biggest enemies are those here who refer to themselves as his “base.” Some base.

Hillary has nothing to fear. Barr is a Deep Stater & friend of Mueller. He’ll probably end up helping Mueller’s gang even more.

It seems quite possible that a testosterone-laden alien has invaded Lindsey’s carcass.

Hope it lasts . . .

Apparently you failed to notice Graham exploding at Sen. Dick Durban and defending and supporting Cavanaugh.

What do you know about William Barr? How has he acted as Attorney General in the past?

If that is not your criteria, then you are ignorant in advocation.

I see a HUGE political opening for conservatives to share their message, and I am quite frankly surprised that Breitbart does not do this. Have a ready list of positions any potential nominee has taken and link it to any article the nominee is mentioned in.

Barr is an inspired choice.

Barr is a Trump outsider. They have no legitimate reasons to oppose him.

yes Barr seems to be a good choice. I think Whitaker will do the dirty work first, indict the criminals. Then when Barr clears the Senate he’ll be the prosecutor of the criminals! It’s looking to be a great end of year my FRiends!

Terrible, insane decision.

In 1991, all eight Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to confirm William Barr as Attorney General.

Most of those Democrat Senators were on the same Judiciary Committee that destroyed Robert Bork in 1987!

Re: “He [Bush One] did appoint Justice Thomas.”

Only because Clarence Thomas was Black.

Bush One also appointed David Souter, who instantly became a reliable Hard Left vote for the next 20 years.

I wasn’t talking about Bush’s bad appointments. I was highlighting that he did make a very good appointment. And we don’t know that he only appointed him because he was black.

Re: “I wasn’t talking about Bush’s bad appointments.”

I agree. I thought that was completely obvious.

Re: “And we don’t know that he only appointed Clarence Thomas because he was Black.”

Right - because the retirement of Thurgood Marshall (the first Black Supreme Court Justice) in October 1991 was just an amazing coincidence.

When this all goes down, we will be fighting for our lives.

The righting is on the wall. The left wing deep state establishment, is so strong, they are nearly able to pick our own president, and regularly defy and kick congress in the face.

This deep state and real global governance may well emerge from the global catastrophic war they are rapidly pushing us toward.

In foreign policy, the anti-American global deep statists (spearheaded by Linda and the GOP-e in the senate), are intentionally driving a wedge between the US and SA, Jordan, and Egypt, as well as working to scuttle any framework Trump is trying to accomplish with China, which also means NK.

These efforts are already spawning new diplomatic efforts between Moscow and the same. Seems like a sinister plot in a spy novel, only its real. This is how much they hate conservative voters in America.

It is all one big sick religiously militant ongoing effort.

We need Gods intervention.

Trump needed a LION at AG, but he has been politically drawn and quartered. And like what happens during an abortion, they would do it physically, if given unchecked opportunity.

We are in a very real war for our faith, liberty, and our country, which the left has unavoidably brought to us.

“Trump needed a LION at AG”

Yes he did. I just caught a replay of lou dobbs and matt gaetz referred to Jeff Sessions as the keebler elf...lmao.

Even with all hands on deck(a pitbull of an AG & the GOP fully backing the President), it would’ve been a herculean task to wrest control of our corrupt stasi state from the radical left(drain the swamp). Now here we are and the forces of darkness are closing in for the kill.

Trump is not helpless.

Since January 2017, he has had the option to declassify and publicly release every DOJ, FBI, and Intelligence agency document that relates to every political scandal involving Trump, Obama, or the Clintons.

Obstruction of justice?

Forget that noise.

Trump can issue a blanket pardon for every name mentioned in every document. No prosecutions? No obstruction of justice!

No one could accuse him of playing favorites or acting in self-interest, because the documents would tell most of the facts before any interested party had spoken a word.

Bottom Line - 40% of likely voters think Trump should be impeached. The fact that Trump will not release any documents in his own defense often makes me wonder if he, or someone he loves, is guilty of something.
