Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on responsible treatment of animals, which outlaws all forms of cruelty to animals and establishes rules of pet ownership, according to documents uploaded to the official online database of Russian legislative information on Thursday.

The law was introduced to the lower chamber of the Russian parliament, the State Duma, in 2010 and took eight years to be passed. The law contains the basic principles of pet ownership, based on responsible, ethical and humane treatment of animals.....

Trump does NOT "like and respect" Putin. He knows full well that he is a snake, not to be trusted. However, he was absolutely naive about him and Russia early on. Luckily he was set straight by some wise and knowledgeable folks in and around his administration.

No: that would be akin to slowly torturing a person to death, which should not to be done to animals. However, you are opposed to quickly killing animals for food, correct?

I do not set myself up as the arbiter of what is “humane,” so the method an animal dies is not terribly important to me. I do not relish pain toward animals, but I also have no issue with using a glue trap on rodents and letting them die stuck to glue.

I also believe torture penalties are completely reasonable and fair when used on the perps who used those similar methods on innocent victims.

God believes stoning is reasonable, as do I and Daniel of the Old Testament.

Also, at the same time his administration has zero tolerance for any violation of the *equal* rights that all minorities have in Russia. In the 1990s, after the collapse of the USSR, a very nasty Russian nationalist streak started to take root, and minorities like Armenians had to deal with a ton of racism and discrimination. Putin put a very quick stop to this and made it clear that this type of behavior was unacceptable in Russia.

Indeed, and in contrast to the detached manner of having the state execute one guilty of a Biblical capital offense , instead, as the crime/sin was directly or indirectly against the corporate body, so was the execution a community action. Which better served to impact the community as to the gravity of the sin, as well as judging one as guilty.

And at least in the case of a idolator evangelist, "thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people." (Deuteronomy 13:9)

Putin, as well as others here, seem to “know” what is “humane.”

I contend such a word is extremely relative and inconsistently applied, such that it makes a fool of all involved.
