“Unbelievable”

No. Totally believable. The majority don’t think ‘they’ will pay this, and think “the rich” will. They won’t. All something like this does is punish those who are working hard to be upwardly mobile, and have a visible income to be taxed. We are so close to an American version of the Chinese cultural revolution. If things don’t start turning around, it will soon be time for people to start identifying an exit strategy to save their lives. Seriously.

Scummy politicians (but I repeat myself) have been stoking the flames of class warfare and racial division for decade upon decade - to divide and conquer. You can’t do that incessantly without it having a lasting negative effect on society. It’s really no different than what the Nazi’s did to spread hatred of the Jews. The consequences could be as dire. History is repeating itself in many ways.

As long as the Dems are the majority the GOP will continue to lose in these polls.

Cortes and POLLED are I(D)IOTS!

1. Higher taxes make BUSINESSES and ENTREPRENEURS vote with their feet.

2. Money has no borders, so CAPITAL also walks.

3. With higher taxes, affecting the above, JOBS LEAVE.

Higher taxes are higher costs for all AND the middle class declines. More "Income Inequality", Leftist BS rises.

Case Closed

---Those jobs pay too much?

The Hill is in the tank for the Democrats that Socialists/Communists. They are not that different than the far Left Politico, Washington Post or NY Times.

This is a complete B.S. lie being pushed as news.

Notice you cannot even comment on the article.

Why is that?

Answer: Because the Hill does not want to be called out that this is fake poll and a fake news story. This is why they do not allow comments on this article. They just like to put out their B.S., and they do not want to be challenged.

More Fake Stream News lies. That is all they do lie, lie and lie.

Isn’t it true that when the tax rate was 70%, there were many things that were deductible that are no longer tax deductible? I seem to remember a quote from none other than Donald Trump that he preferred the higher rate with all the deductions that were available. The result being that nobody actually paid the 70% rate and that the deductions actually helped the economy. No, I am not advocating going back to 70% tax rates, especially now that all the allowable deductions are gone.

"Without high priced accountants the money has to be turned into salary and taxed"

Thank you. There are several well-meaning folks on here that think they can tax Soros' "income". Soros' "income", is not income, it's capital gains. Now a "wealth tax" (which I would also oppose), would make him hurt...

It will allow both sides to enrich their coffers with excessive donations from those buying tax loop holes ... kind of like now but only worse. In addition, it will deplete the middle class of wealth and opportunity, and further complicate the tax laws.

I believe it. So many Americans are all for sticking it to the rich guy. They never think about how hard that person worked for it. As long as they don’t have to pay it then they are fine with it. When they get laid off work because their rich boss can’t afford them because of taxes they still are not smart enough to figure it out. Thats what our commie leftist education system has produced, a bunch of greedy morons.

I support me getting to take all Bill Gates’ money. Doesn’t mean that’s good public policy.

There is no reason anyone should allow the government to steal 70% of their money, it would make more sense to hire an army to depose the government that tried to do that.

Heck, even The Colonel only kept 50% of Elvis’ pay.

And, Germany ‘only’ taxes at 48%.

Geez.
