I read some postings about Trump giving the speech in the Senate. From what I read based on the Senate rules, the Senate would have to pass a resolution inviting Trump. Of course, Schumer would not allow that to happen.

Good. Move it to the Senate chamber and whoever doesn’t show will not look good at all.
Pelosi and the other Rats don’t want the nation to hear the President speak the truth.
The State of the Union speech will happen.

Move it to Independence Hall in Philadelphia and invite military families to the audience and televise it

Of course, Schumer would not allow that to happen.

What could he do to stop it?

I say move it to the largest stadium in the country and charge a modest fee, with proceeds going to build the wall. Politicians are free to buy tickets, like every one else.

“Of course, Schumer would not allow that to happen.”
From what I understand the Prez is not obligated to give the address. He should give it from the Oval office and set a new trend.

Pelosi would like that. She won't be on camera. Newt put together a whole collage of her nasty grimaces.
The Dems behavior at the last SOTU was despicable.

Don't have the current rule for either the House or Senate, but if the Majority leaders of both are not empowered by their office to invite speakers to a Joint Session, or even to speak in their chamber, then they ought to be forced to call for a vote.
It is beyond time to draw the proverbial line in the sand, no more lurking in the shadows as a "present". The leftist Dems now control 1/3 of the government and some even wonder about the Judiciary.
How else might a "gentle" slow-motion collapse of our government appear?

Write it out for Congress, then hold a MAGA rally.

What could he do to stop it? My thought as well. Unless it is within McConnell's authority, it depends on Senate voting rules.

Senate chamber is nowhere near large enough to seat the House, Senate, and Supreme Court, along with guests.

A live audience of thousands of people cheering the POTUS is more impressive than a solitary figure in front of camera. Do you remember how pathetic gov Jindal looked giving response to the SOTU of a democrat president?

The Senate hasn't been a paragon of virtue over the past two years either. I vote for Trump giving the STOU at a gathering of CITIZENS, not 535 a$$holes, and a couple of octogenarian somnambulist SCOTUS Justices.
To: politicket
Then don't invite the House.
He can give the address, and then mail a copy of the transcript to Nancy Pelosi.
