House Speaker Nancy Pelosi renewed her call to postpone the State of the Union address but changed her reasons Thursday, saying her worry isn’t that the Secret Service can’t do its job but rather that they shouldn’t be asked to do it while they’re not getting paid.
She also chided President Trump for his lack of a response to her suggestion that the Jan. 29 speech be put off.
“Very silent,” she said.
Mrs. Pelosi signaled she hasn’t decided what she will do if Mr. Trump refused her suggestion to delay the speech.

Maybe she is afraid people will make fun of her, sitting behind President Trump with a cozy grin. The camera will continue to focus in on Cortez with her big eyes. The Dems. will be instructed to not ever applaud.

The real reason is that they don’t want cameras pointing at an obviously dying, or conspicuously absent, Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Yep...She’s making herself into a laughing stock and maybe even knows it.
President Trump needs to do it somewhere else with an empty chair behind him where the crazy lady would normally sit.
Pelosi was caught in yet another lie with her demand Trump cancel his SOTU address (or simply submit it in writing). She claimed it was for safety - and that Homeland Security was worried. The lie was laid bare and she is now having to change her tune.
We know the real reason - she doesn’t want Trump to have the attention of the entire nation and both houses of the legislative branch as a “captive audience” to have him beat her and her party over the head with FACTS. She and her ilk have proven over-and-over that they don’t care about facts. They reject report after report from every agency. They turn a blind eye to the actual people with real names who have been (and continue to be) victimized by the open borders.
Yes - the is TRUMP’s shutdown (I prefer the term SHOWDOWN), because he said as much in his surprise press-covered, Oval Office meeting with Pelosi and Schumer - HE WOULD shut the government down if need be. But he would do it IF Congress failed to do their job. So it is Trump’s shutdown - CAUSED by Pelosi and the Democrats.
And the SOTU address would be a massive opportunity for the President to hammer home the truth - with names, faces, and the reality of the situation. And considering the “response” she and her Senator counterpart gave after the last speech - they might be better off just remaining quiet!
Ha ha ha Try plan B.
