Reminds me of the bridge collapse in Minneapolis a few years ago.
Federal funds had been given to the state for road maintenance. the state legislature diverted said funds for social welfare crap instead.
Oh well, you lose.
Hey - the Feds gave them $3 Billion for the failed train deal...and they don’t want to pay it back so i say that it counts for at least the same amount of future payments to Kalifornia....kind of like a pre-paid credit card.
This is like an outtake on the movie Chinatown.
In the end, we get the government 1) for which we vote and/or 2) which we allow.
Damn residents of the state insist on passing every damn tax and bond measure that makes it to ballot. Having spent my entire life there until last fall, I hated that I had no control over what taxes and extra expenses were passed onto CA residents.
You missed it by a mere $550 million. The Chrysler Building just sold for $150,000,000.
In light of the power outages we can say...... California is venezuela west
(with apologies to Freepers that must endure the travesty)
Faulty original construction and a YUGE lack of maintenance caused this “disaster”.
They are lucky to be getting anything!
Interesting. I did not think about that. The State does have a big surplus. Thanks.
“In light of the power outages we can say...... California is venezuela west”
