Because we just aren’t blowing enough of the taxpayer’s money at this point in time.

Taxes to bail out criminals - that is even stupider.

Just when we think the libtards can’t get any more stupid, they get stupider. I wonder what will be the next stupidest idea will be? You know it’s coming. 👎

Baby, you’re not being a good citizen.

Pay taxes for the police to keep you safe.

Then pay taxes for the people the police arrest to get back on the street.

Then pay taxes to for the police to keep you safe.

Rinse and repeat.

If you don’t understand the science of that, then the King County council will declare you insane. Off to re-education for you.

Until you’re sane.

Learn to live Big Brother.

This from a county with a such a huge drug problem that it has destroyed the “Emerald City” (Seattle) and left a rotting corpse.

It’s Marxist-ruled Washington State, Jake. Forget it. It can’t be saved.

And why can’t it be saved? Because the only way to save it would mean electing Trump-like Republicans which is horrifying in extremis to the majority of King County residents.

Which is worse? The legions of drug users infesting Seattle or conservative Republicans in office? The conservative Republicans definitely ...

Once released, Seattle will need an extra $40 million in Police overtime pay to round up the miscreants after they commit new crimes.

I heard something on the radio that Washington state is trying to move legislation for single-payer health care, or universal health care or something.

King County’s idea to do the “head tax” on companies like Amazon and Microsoft so they could fund homeless programs is pretty stupid.

The government sponsored heroin injection sites are pretty stupid.

The multi-million dollar self-cleaning public restrooms for the homeless was pretty stupid.

Some folks think that the Seattle area politics might shift away from the liberals after all of their failed politics. I live here, and I doubt that. Although I was heartened by many of the failed initiatives last fall. Crap about climate change failed. The stricter gun laws stuff passed though.

The request for proposal does not mention potential safety concerns.
The above does not mention that commitment to equity social justice DOES NOT support the public well-being. THEY just CANT HELP THEMSELVES

Washington state has (or had) a Ten Most Wanted list like the FBI, but just for crimes committed in Washington.

Usually, half or more are Hispanics who have jumped bail.

Some of the notations even say things like, “The suspect is believed to be in Mexico.”

This is so unfair. Rather than providing bail for criminals, lawful taxpayers should go to jail for them and allow them to live in the taxpayer’s house. THAT would be “social justice”. Anything less is a hate crime.

10 to 1 Betcha it’s illegals that’s the problem. Today’s so called democrats insist Americans must allow illegals storm in here by the hundreds of thousands despite their cost to us of billion$ in tax dollars, which is never enough. Tax money that should be going to our citizens for their sustenance, health, education, and housing even infrastructure needs. But Americans must do the tax flagellating punishment because we’re the very rich United States and must divert those billion$ to fill the needs of those poor illegals plus give them the right to vote. Sustained by our tax money which our children’s children if not aborted will be paying for.

What never gets mentioned in all of this is the lacking reciprocal treatment. If we applied that policy Because when an American citizen ever tries getting any of those handouts including voting when going to where the great undocumented come from That would never happen. Would this continue ?

This is too stupid for words. Bail, in the United States is largely a scam to generate revenue for the bail bondsman industry. The idea itself makes sense. Force people to have 'skin in the game' to make sure they show up in court. You pay a surety so that you will show up in court. If you do so, you get your money back. However, it largely works as just a court imposed fine on accused individuals without large sums of ready cash.

Rich folk can afford to pay some of these insane bonds, knowing that the money will be returned to them. The middle class, and poor, however, when faced with the need to come up with $50k in cash to stay out of jail pending trial will have to go to a bondsman who will front the cash for a 10% fee. So, regardless of what happens, even before they give a dime to a lawyer they are out thousands of dollars that they simply will not ever see again. What is the 'justice' in that?

Personally, I don't see any.

Most folks aren't likely to run off to Belize or elsewhere just because they've been accused of a crime, and as such they shouldn't, IMO, be fined by the court just to raise revenue for either the court (given the length of time it takes to be ground through the wheels of the legal system, interest alone would be significant) or for parties outside such as bondsmen.

If the person involved is an illegal alien, or someone else that has no ties to any community or job that will assure their appearance, then the court should take cognizance of that and deal with it appropriately, but if the court has no particular reason not to think the person won't cooperate with the court they shouldn't be using bond in a punitive way.

I say and believe all of the above though I've never actually been in the position to pay bail.
