Will certainly cut the state's election costs...

No need for voting locations... Everyone (in all states) just stay home and watch the TV... Mexifornia (with the guaranteed 189 electoral votes) will finally have the sole voice in who is President... Communism rules...

Apparently no one (in the administration) is saying or doing anything to stop this...

Along with Nebraska, Maine had the best method for allocating electoral votes by assigning the votes by congressional district (with the statewide winner getting the two electoral votes all states have for their senators). Assignment of electoral votes by congressional district maximizes a person’s ability to have their vote count in a republican form of voting. It is a shame that Maine is going from the best method to the absolute worst.

You would think that, at the very LEAST, POTUS, RNC, GOP state groups, etc., would be running ads explaining how detrimental these absurd electoral vote giveaway laws are.

It looked like 4 little dim squares on my screen. Thanks for decoding and for the thumbs up.

Republicans can campaign against the Democrats in these states as having taken away their right to vote for President - which is what they did. Their votes don’t count as far as who gets their Electoral Votes - voters of other states do.

In addition, there is no certified “national popular vote” winner as there is no national election that even takes place.

It’s unconstitutional in that this is a pact not approved by Congress. They’ve passed it to where it only takes effect if enough other states vote with them. That’s a pact.

AUGUSTA —The Maine House rejected a bill Thursday that would have Maine join a compact of states pledging to award their Electoral College votes to the winner of the national popular vote during presidential elections.

The 66-76 vote against the measure comes two weeks after the Senate agreed to add Maine to a growing number of states aiming to elect presidents by popular vote.

The Senate voted, 19-16 to have Maine join an interstate compact in which participating states agree to award their Electoral College votes to the presidential candidate who receives the most votes nationwide.
