Bernie Sanders pushes for drastic change to US economy: 'We need a political revolution'

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., is in full force with his push for democratic socialism as he looks to increase support for his 2020 presidential campaign, and is calling for a "political revolution" in the United States.

Days after an address at George Washington University in which he rolled out his platform, Sanders brought his message of income equality to "Fox News Sunday."

"If we're going to bring about real change in this country ... we need fundamental change. We need a political revolution," Sanders told host Chris Wallace.

Sanders pointed to the growth seen by the wealthy, in contrast to a decline for those less fortunate.

"In the last thirty years, the top 1 percent has seen an increase in their wealth of $21 trillion, while the bottom half of America has seen an actual decline in their wealth of some $800 billion," Sanders said.

During his GWU speech, in which he rolled out his democratic socialist platform, Sanders promoted the idea of a "21st Century Economic Bill of Rights." He said he was looking to fulfill the vision that President Franklin Roosevelt had in 1944, a year before he died. Sanders' Bill of Rights includes rights to a job with a living wage, secure retirement, health care, education, affordable housing and a clean environment.

The only way to achieve the goals of his democratic socialist agenda is for millions of people to work together.

Republicans are horrible at messaging. No one in the GOP is touting the Trump economic boom or educating people about the dangers of socialism. Absolutely pathetic.

Careful with that “revolution” talk, St. Bernard. You may be biting off more than you and your Marxist comrades can chew.

“Socialism” (government take-over of your lives - tyranny especially in America) sits on the scrapheap of history as an utterly failed governmental and command-and-control economic system, yet people still buy it from others like Crazy Bernie. Astonishing.

Why do people choose government coercion over freedom? One reason: they don’t know that’s what they’re choosing.

As Reagan said, if people are knowledgeable about their choice, they will ALWAYS choose freedom over governmental tyranny and oppression.

I call the election of PDJT by Obama-oppressed patriots the political revolution that post-17th Amendment ratification Sen. Sanders is looking for.

If you start taxing the “rich” at rates of 70% or more will you soon not have any rich to tax? France and New York imposed a millionaires tax and their millionaires simply left taking their money with them. If you were very successful and made a million dollars only to have the government take most of it in taxes why would you bother to run a successful business?

i could be mistaken but didnt we just have a political revolution back in 2016 when DJT took the whitehouse. That is what political revolution looks like people. The politicians in washington HATE president trump because he’s not one of them.

If bernie is talking about some other kind of revolution he’d better watch out.

He wants to go back to the 60s when their revolution took place... our civilization has never gotten over those years. Bernie caps what they thought.
