We lucked out. We got there at 1:30. The line was already about a 1/2 mile long stretching south.
When we got in at about 4:30 we went up and down the seating area to the right of the stage. Every empty seat was “being saved”. Finally, we went down the last section directly right of the stage. The first three rows at the bottom were saved as a VIP section. There were two seats left in row 5. We were able to score those.
The people on the aisle gotten there at 7am. They were from Albany. The people to our right were from Mass. They got there at 9am.
It was really quite a memorable experience. I have never been to a political rally as large. When GW Bush was running against Kerry we went to a rally at the armory in Manchester. There were maybe a couple thousand people there. By the time Bush came on we were 10’ from the stage. There were no seats. Just standing. There has never been anything like the crowds that Trump attracts. Not in my lifetime. Therefore, the media has to lie about the crowd size.
The other thing that struck me was when the young lady sang the national anthem. 11000 people took off their hats and sang along. Everyone was singing. I have never seen a more patriotic crowd.
I have been to a lot of Red Sox games when the crowd sings along to Sweet Caroline, etc. I have never heard 11000 sing the national anthem.
