Former President Obama and the former first lady have reportedly made a bid of approximately $15 million on a home in Marthas Vineyard. The 7,000 square-foot house comes with 29 acres and would likely be a summer home. The family is known to have spent quite a bit of time on the island over past summers.
Unlike President Trump, who earned his money before taking office, the Obamas have benefited handsomely from their time in the White House. President Obama only earned the standard $400,000 salary when he was in office, but after leaving, he and his wife Michelle acquired a joint book deal worth $65 million, high-priced speaking engagements and a deal with Netflix. Now they are rolling in dough.
As a capitalist, I am all in favor of people making as much money as they want and spending it how they please. However, this lavish new abode is quite a statement in hypocrisy from the former president, who spent his presidency demonizing everyone else's success.

Well..... what do you expect from a black calling the kettle pot.
"It is this world, a world where cruise ships throw away more food in a day than most residents of Port-au-Prince see in a year, where white folks greed runs a world in need"
If there ever was a case of “You didn’t build that” it’s this.
And thus you see the modern way of bribing a politician.
How much “kickback” did the Obama’s receive for helping facilitate the uranium sale to Russia, along with Hillary? And how much “kickback” did they receive for unfreezing and returning cash to our enemy, Iran? People don’t do these things for nothing....
The real question might be...how come this second generation Bill/Hill grifter duo remain relevant?
They flaunt this pair in our faces
The house is about 100 yards from the ocean, with an elevation above sea-level of about 10 feet
They clearly are NOT worried about rising oceans or climate change.
I wonder how Moochelle’s garden will do there?
Please note....
Every post that follows this news story that highlights the rags to riches success story is forever RACISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Great post!!! Too bad African-Americans & other Americans have not yet learned what a farce and ripoff the two Obama’s really are. Their motto: “Do nothing for Blacks or Hispanics, just use and abuse them and fill ‘our” greedy pockets with their money. And.. “Let’s make sure we do everything we can to keep them brothers & sisters in those crooked, criminal, Democrat controlled, Blue City Ghettos. Go figure...folks!!!
Well we’re movin on up
To east side
To a deluxe mansion
on the Vineyard
Probably, very well. She will have plenty of minimum wage workers maintaining it for her. It’s great to be the king!
And it’s a part time house.
I was born into a house bigger than 7k square feet, don’t remember much of it, but the folks tell me that if you need that much space, you are outnumbered by guests and servants and you sure don’t need that.
However, as always, we’re talking about Obamas. They are special. So special, they get the special rate for jumbo oceanfront property insurance. So special, they even have neighbors nearly as special as themselves — such as, perhaps, Rosie O’Donnell or Yoko Ono. (From the top secret phone directory, page O.)
Because of human nature as a rational being, wealth is a real good that is necessary for happiness. The need and desire for wealth is limitless because of the faculty of reason. The limitless need and desire for wealth is compatible with the law of diminishing marginal utility, and is the cause of continuous economic progress.
Thanks for the post and your work on AJ.
“And its a part time house.”
Correct, they will go to this place in the summer. Then the place in Hawaii. Then the place in Chicago.
It must be tiring moving around on private jets so often.
