Well that will certainly encourage more rental properties.
Snort.
One of the most important things one can do for survival is to simply READ THE TEA LEAVES. The same goes for teaching our kids the same.
In the case of Germany in the late 1920s and early 1930s the writing was on the wall...and I suspect that many Jews there had money to leave, or at least had ways to access the money (relatives overseas, etc.). But they figured they’d ride it out...only to discover later that they were locked-in, and no longer could escape.
In this case, it’s NO SECRET that California is now run by far-left extremists, and anyone who understands these extremists will know that they NEVER STOP and NEVER REVERSE themselves - it only gets worse with them. The people who own property there, particularly rental property there, might as well wear a yellow patch on their arm, as the Jews had to do in Germany back then...because this cannot end well for them either.
For California land owners who are conservative and understand who Democrats are, there is still time to GET OUT, but probably not much. After that, they will find themselves managing properties which produce little income, get torn up by Section 8 residents, and thus become impossible to sell.
But there are still many IDIOTS in the country, and particularly in California who will still pay top dollar for those properties, at least NOW - but not for long, as even the idiots will figure out what’s going on. So GET OUT, while you can!
Can you require proof of Citizenship or a Resident Alien Green Card, or is that Illegal too?
Why do leftists see poverty is an indication of merit?
“300,000 Californians who receive the (Section 8) vouchers”

Really?!? Only 300,000? Those 300,000 must all be illegals. I’ve never seen a White couple in Sec 8 housing around here. Once again, I find a program for Americans that is going to COOCs. Get the 5 million (?) COOCs out of CA!! Apartment complexes would empty, used car prices would plummet, teens and seniors would get jobs again, people on a bad streak could recover.
The price would stay fixed but for maybe 3% rise in rent increase but it would lead to shortages and the apartments would never be repaired. See NYC before Mayor Guiliani.
Why does anyone still live in that sewer? There are so many better places to live?
Come to Pacoima Ca if you want to see first hand what section 8 housing does to the neighborhood. About half of the residents don’t pay for trash service, they dump it on the parkway or at the curb and it sits there til the City comes and cleans it up, usually 2-3 months.
How to drive down property values (and tax base) with one stupid law. Our HOA wiped $100K off the worth of each of our homes during the Obama recession, when people who needed to move couldn’t sell readily (now they sell in 7 days tops); so the Board started allowing rentals, and the County swooped in and forced Section 8s on us. What a disaster. All those HOA by-laws? Renters don’t give a crap.
