this wouldn’t be a tax, because the 16th Amendment grants the Feds the right to tax only income. Any actual attempt to tax “wealth” would simply be property confiscation and would be patently unconstitutional.

This smacks of being A Bill of Attainder. It starts with yhe wealthy then extends to everyone with a 401K, a bank account, and any savings.

I can remember when Pelosi wanted to tax the “perceived’ capital gains on a person’s assets.......
Then the Obama recession severely dropped the value of most American housing......But there was no tax credit offered by Pelosi for the LOSS of capital value........
