Meet the group injured most by ban on counseling against gayness

Local and state governments in the United States and other nations have been banning counseling individuals to get rid of unwanted same-sex attractions.

But there's one population that's being injured each time that happens.

Rape victims.

Male rape victims.

In the United States, more than a dozen states or local governments have moved to suppress information that counselors could provide to those victims. Recently, officials in the city of Tampa, Florida, appealed a federal judge's decision to block an ordinance prohibiting the counseling of children who seek help overcoming same-sex attractions.

Note this excellent statement by a judge who recognizes the truth of the matter:

Nothing is more intimate, more private, and more sensitive, than a growing young man or woman talking to a mental health therapist about sex, gender, preferences, and conflicting feelings. The ordinance inserts the city's code enforcers into the middle of this sensitive, intense and private moment. But this moment is already governed by Florida's very broad rights of privacy, something the ordinance ignores. ... The Florida Constitution's privacy amendment suggests that government should stay out of the therapy room. The Tampa Ordinance does not address this constitutional issue, and in doing so the city attempts to occupy a very private space, contrary to a strong statewide policy.

And the LGBT crowd actively censor any detransitioning transgenders as if it never happens.

This is just another manifestation of the totalitarianism the left would impose anywhere they are able to. What business is it of anyone if an individual wants to seek counseling to overcome same sex attraction?

Honest question, can someone explain this statement from the article?
“ “Some victims were said to have started homosexual behavior as an undesired reaction to being raped...”.

I knew a wonderful lesbian lady — we were classical music concert partners — who was raped at a fraternity party in her freshman year at college. She regarded sex with a man as trauma.

The primary way homosexuals become homosexuals is having been raped (via either violence or coercion) as a child.

Why does being homo raped lead to homo desire?

I assume you are a woman.

Rape of a male is nearly impossible without him getting aroused.

The desire to “do something” with the formerly flaccid flesh happens whether the boy is with another man, woman or himself. If a male has sex and he enjoys or is aroused by the rape (which is what sex between say a 19 YO adult and a 12 YO boy is) he will be bent that way often for life. Like the newborn calf can bond to the first thing it smells.

A male often brings up images of anything sexual to soothe his inability to sleep. Wished for images of pretty ladies may take a back seat to actual memories.

Never underestimate the over-driven sex desire of teen boys, and girls are often unobtainable for the awkward and immature.

What happened to “my body, my choice”?

The leftists celebrate the mutilation of kids to “change gender” but won’t allow someone to try to Not change.

So, if you’re straight and mentally sound, you need to be educated on the wonders of the homo life and you’re probably a bigot.

If you’re a homo or have gender dysphoria and want to change your state of mind, tough luck! We’ve passed a law that says “no chang-ese”.

Being raped early in life can skew one’s concept of sexuality. It can make a young boy feel worthless unless he receives such “attention” from a man.

If you buy the fallacious argument of the left that homosexuality is just an “orientation,” then you can falsely argue that people are just “wired that way.” The truth is that natural sexuality can be damaged, in various ways, and needs to be repaired, or at least bounds set for it.

Recovered homosexual/transsexual Sy Rogers had a very good take on it. He said we all have “homo-emotional” needs, men need men - emotionally - just like women need women. When this legitimate need is sexualize through a trauma like early sexual assault, homosexuality can occur.

Yep - denying help to those who are seriously conflicted is unconscionable...but necessary for them to carry on their war against sanity.

I appreciate the thoughtful and intelligent answer. I had surmised as such but could not explain it as cogently as you.
