Explosive Book Shows How FBI and Media Destroyed an Innocent Man
American Thinker.com ^ | February 17, 2020 | Elise Cooper

Posted on 02/17/2020 6:19:27 AM PST by Kaslin

The Suspect by Kent Alexander and Kevin Salwen is a must-read book.  It details how Richard Jewell was accused of being the bomber at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.  Instead of being a hero for saving many lives, he became the main person of interest by the FBI and the press.  Former U.S. attorney Kent Alexander and former Wall Street Journal reporter Kevin Salwen reconstruct all the events leading up to, during, and after the Olympic bombing, showing how much of the law enforcement evidence was ignored, mainly because of tunnel vision.

Elise Cooper: Why did you write it now?

Kent Alexander: I have wanted to write this book for over two decades, ever since delivering Richard Jewell's clearance letter.  My coauthor Kevin Salwen and I started reporting and writing The Suspect in earnest five and a half years ago.  This past November, we were finally ready to publish.

EC: Do you think that Jewell is still considered by many a suspect?

KA: Not by many, but a few.  One of our main characters, former FBI Special Agent Don Johnson, went to his grave convinced Richard Jewell was complicit in the Olympic bombing.  He was wrong.

EC: Do you think the press and media made Jewell out to be not the brightest?

KA: Yes.  Richard was no academic or intellectual, but he was a law enforcement professional who took his job quite seriously.  Sometimes overly so.  He prided himself on having a "seventh sense" to detect danger, and thank goodness he did.  He saved countless lives.  Richard Jewell is a bona fide hero.

The FBI has been ruining lives for a long time. It needs to be totally shut down ands current employees should be banned from ever holding a government job. There are no good guys there.

If you haven’t seen Clint Eastwood’s movie, do so.

I lived through that whole thing here in Atlanta. What the FBI did to that poor man was inexcusable. Never for one second did I think he was guilty. Thats when I lost all respect for the FBI and realized they are really just a bunch of thugs and morons.

The FBI, CIA, NSA, IRS and BATF should be padlocked.

"It should be mandatory that all FBI watch that movie."

Why? The Fibbies know, and THEY DON'T CARE! They are beyond the reach of mere mortal man.

Once they have that badge, they just move from royal household to royal household, until they can retire on the money they stole and by a condo in Arizona. They were wire tapping the Mob in 1939, and still denying it existed in 1980.

They are still hiding Lon Horiuchi.

Get...... Police State .....by Gerry Spence...

The 90 % of honest cops, judges, prosectures, lawyers will not rat out the crooked ones..

Police State narrates the shocking account of the Madrid train bombings: how the FBI accused an innocent man of treasonous acts they knew he hadn’t committed. It details the rampant racism within Chicago’s police department, which landed a teenager, Dennis Williams, on death row. It unveils the coercive efforts of two cops to extract a false murder confession from frightened, fragile Albert Hancock, along with other appalling evidence from eight of Spence’s most famous cases. And it raises the question: when the people we pay to protect us instead persecute us, how can we be safe?

In Police State, Spence issues a stinging indictment of the American justice system. Demonstrating that the way we select and train our officers guarantees fatal abuses of justice, he prescribes a challenging cure that stands to restore the promise of liberty and justice for all.

The FBI are just the dogs. Prosecutors hold the leash. If we are going to reform the justice system, it has to start with prosecutors. Too many of them don’t bother to ask if the suspect really did it. All they want to know is if they can get a conviction.

The FBI also messed up the Anthrax investigation, anybody remember that?

They were sure that some former gubmint health worker had the anthrax....THEY EVEN DRAINED THE GUY’S POND!!! The FBI was wrong because like Richard Jewell, they took the easiest route.

FBI...used to be respected but now the Keystone Kops are better at law enforcement.

Don Johnson, the FBI lead investigator in the case who tried to railraod Jewell, was eventually suspended for violating Jewell’s rights. When Johnson returned to duty, FBI agents lined the halls to give him a standing ovation.

These are the guys signing petitions against William Barr.

When they tell you that 95% of the agents are honest, don’t believe it.

To the prosecutors it’s not personal. It’s just a game and it’s always about winning the game. Too bad if truth and justice get trampled in the process.

Two more innocents: James and Liz Sanders, over TWA Flight 800, are two more people FBI and entire Clinton apparatus used bankrupt and destroy their reputations, along with entire government.

James Kalstrom, who repeatedly lied everywhere, not completely at the behest of Clinton’s re-election team in 1996!

The fbi has been entrusted with immense power. It can deprive a person of liberty and cause him to go to jail for life. This power must be used responsibly, or else the members of the fbi must go to jail for life as their innocent victims have done.

I’ve always believed that the Olympic bombing was an inside plot designed to draw attention and blame away from the TWA flight 800 disaster, and that fall guy Richard Jewel literally became the fall guy with his serendipitous discovery of the bomb providing the conspirators with “the” likely suspect.
