This actually happened where a friend works. An NP just stopped showing up to work. She had some personal issues she was going through. After HR trying to work with her and her not returning keys to building and office, they terminated her.
She signed on with a hospital about 50 miles away. When they found out that she had not disclosed she had been terminated for cause, she was fired and walked out of the building.
If it was my shop, I’d do it free just for the fun of it.

still, at least in my state, the board of nursing seems endlessly forgiving...especially with drug use.....I don’t get it...

Is there still a shortage of nurses? Maybe that is why they are so forgiving?
I did read that some hospitals had to reduce staff because elective surgeries were not allowed...
