NFL never did really interest me. I usually could find something better to do than watch 22 knuckleheads chasing an inflated pig bladder down a cow pasture.
I agree. I find it hard to believe the number is so low. I suspect most of their remaining audience is black. However, we even have Freepers who can't seem to give up watching grown men play a children's game, so I'm sure there are more cucks out there than I would expect.
One day, you will find yourself checking the score after the game is over, then transitioning to maybe asking someone who watched the game who won.
Among other things, the NFL needs to just realize they need to let the Cowboys win every game, and their ratings would go up. : )
My question is how long to do have to be on channel before it's counted and sent to Nielsen? I surf a lot and check out channels for just a moment and move on.
I do not know. I’d imagine they have metrics for that kind of thing. If you hit a channel, stay there for 5 minutes, then move on, they’d classify it differently that something that you hit then stayed on. Metrics like that matter. Anything that is ‘sticky’, and makes you stop is what they want to know.
So was Dirk. Cuban's biggest problem is he's a jock sniffer. Permeates their strategy in acquiring talent for the team. He cost Dirk several years by going after top tier free agents that were never going to play in Dallas.
I certainly knew that cable companies had the ability to know exactly what was happening with their cable boxes. What I wasn't sure of was whether they provide info to ratings firms or not...but it makes sense that they'd do so and it makes sense that ratings companies would want that info.
As for myself, I will not bend my knee to the left's control freaks to govern what I watch on TV...and will do my boycotting of the NFL and the unpatriotic team members in various concrete ways by not buying tickets to games anymore, by not buying any NFL merchandise or by utilizing any other way I can think of to send a message.
Others are welcome to express their opinion by never watching a game again....that is one's perfectly understandable choice......and that's also exactly what the commie radicals love to hear....they are controlling your choices and you are acquiescing.
As for me....Go Chicago Bears and the Bucs (I'm retired in Florida from the Chicago suburbs, so I love 'em both !)

What you say goes if you get programming off an antennae. Most people stream or have cable. Nielsen has access to those directly.
I stream but I have an antennae for my once a year excursion to see the local stations.
I hope the NFL folds like a cheap tent!!!!!!
I can’t believe that you used the term “blacked out,” when talking about NFL TV, non-coverage! OUCH!
1)Cable and satellite companies know exactly what their customers are watching...and when.
2)These companies have contracts with ratings companies to provide detailed data...as allowed on Page 12 (or 27) of the contract you signed when hooking up to their service.
3) Payments to the NFL from CBS,ABC (owner of ESPN),NBC and Fox come to many billions, that figure being more than ticket sales and merchandise.
4) The contracts that the networks have signed have clauses that say that if ratings go down because of actions by the League they have to give refunds to the networks.
Yes,refuse to buy tickets, refuse to buy jerseys...but it's vital that you also make sure that your cable box isn't tuned to those networks when they're carrying a game.
That is unless you believe that police departments *should* be defunded.
Those who don't want to watch the games, don't. It's not going to get the games off the air, and it's certainly not going to change the pre-game antics of certain team players who disrespect the anthem and the flag.....to the contrary, it makes the Left happy that they have created a situation of disorder where the teams themselves are discombobulated, plus fans across the fruited plain are being urged and shamed into depriving themselves of something they care about.
I have no problem with those boycotting the TV games....it must give a certain amount of self-pride along with the self-sacrifice.....even though it's not changing a thing this particular season, nor will it.
As for myself, I will not kneel to the commie punks who want to choose what I can see on TV and what I can't....and, secretly, I have half-a-hunch that many irate pro-boycott NFL fans are still watching the games and not telling anyone about it, lol.

So basically you are support8ng the NFL. You should be ashamed. The only way to send a real, meaningful message is to completely tune out. You don’t have to give up your season tickets so as not to lose them for future seasons, but please do not go to games or tune in this year.
Completely agree. I love American football although first time I saw a foot ball game was at age 20 as a foreign student at university of Iowa. Go Hawkeyes! Iowa city population was 28,000 at the time in 1960, but on home coming game weekend, there were 75,000 people in Iowa City!
Sticking to your guns because you are so correct about your motives,,a good example to all.
I hope that the next time I watch Tom B, he has the team whipped into shape!
For many weeks, my eyes have been weary w/TV politicking., but were refreshed with a couple of hours of the NFL. Thanks for the ping, and give ‘em hell.
