” A recount of the vote is required when the canvass of returns in a primary or general election shows that the margin between the two candidates receiving the greatest number of votes for a particular office, or between the number of votes cast for and against initiated or referred measures or proposals to amend the Constitution of Arizona, is less than or equal to the LESSER of the following:”
200 votes is less than 3000 something Point #2 is the lesser of the two. Read the fine print.
Okay, I wasn’t sure because it wasn’t really clear to me. Thanks. 8>)
I’ll agree that it doesn’t make sense, but that’s another thing altogether.
Its unbelivable how people are just so willing to believe the media that its over.I asked them who says and they say well biden won.Man, people are just dumb.I wonder if we CAN keep the republic.
‘There should be 30K sharpie votes to process as well I believe.’
Where do you get that info?
Everyone in my town who voted on election day used a Sharpie. My ballot was accepted by the machine, although you can’t tell how the votes were counted. There were no problems with ballot acceptance on election day in the 1 hour I was there. And there are only 2 polling sites in my town.
Don’t get me wrong. I’ll be happy to see more Trump votes. But the Sharpie thing is questionable.
On the back of the ballots are the vote slots for judges.
In fact, most of the judicial votes are on the left side of the ballot on the back. They are not on the right side which would be opposite the presidential vote. In other words, ink bleeding through from the back wouldn’t hit the presidential vote circles.
And most people don’t vote for/against judges because (1) there are so many, and (2) you have to study a lot and bring a list of preferred judges with you to remember them. Also, many people just don’t look at the back of the ballot.
If you read the entirety of the recount rules, it becomes clear they are using the word “elector” to mean candidates to fill offices at various levels. It’s 200 votes for electors (candidates) for state office. The last item still uses the word “elector”, but refers to city or township election candidates. There is no Electoral College for town mayors.
For Pres or Senate, maybe even House, it looks like 0.001 is correct for recount threshold.
“ANYWHERE found to be using voting machines from Dominion Voting needs to be AUDITED. AT LEAST a manual recount with a full observer crew.
Chances are many votes for DPJT were flipped to Biden, that is what the software does.”
Thanks!
Nevermind - I found some information.
And...surprise, surprise, SURPRISE: one of the voting machine companies used by Texas is Dominion Voting Systems, Inc.
https://www.votetexas.gov/voting/how.html
This is INCREDIBLE - it is freaking EVERYWHERE!!!
Because #1 is “less than or equal to the lesser of” the rest?
Glad it is more than 200.
I hear they provide about 1/3 of the voting systems.
We should question ALL of them. I know some received an ‘update’ a day before the election...maybe that was very targeted and not all machines are affected. They may have only updated machines in areas they believe would make a difference.
...I’d try to find out which counties used them.
No, it just stood out to me as the likely one. That’s why I said I think it’s #1. 8>)
Sharpies definitely bleed. It’s too bad that “SharpieGate” happened, and that the ballot itself stated red or black ballpoint only, right? I think AZ will hand “cure” those ballots if it indeed is an issue.
The CA ballot for my 18 year old son who wanted to vote by mail just said “no red ink” but it didn’t state whether pencil was OK. It didn’t even say “only use ink” or “only use black or blue ball point pen”
A real lack of precision in my opinion.
We can safely assume that at no time in the history of our country has an incumbent lost a state he carried when earning an additional 30% of that states vote. Its almost ridiculous.
The State I most want to flip....because of lying, corrupt Fox News.
Hello, hoping that I did not cause insult or offence on your part as the Cindy McCain types likely played that role to one extent or another. It just still struck me as that very baffling to see Trump’s numbers for both that area and statewide to increase that good bit (and not to seem to lose really any real support) but still lose anyways because of big vote increases to Biden (which seem to happen elsewhere as well).
Time will tell!
There is definitely chatter about a re-count in AZ. Wouldnt be happening if 200 votes was the relevant statute.
