Had to Google it, but here’s the three people nominated for Best Actor AND Worst Actor for the SAME role:
James Coco as Jimmy Perrino in ‘Only When I Laugh’, 1981
Amy Irving as Hadass Vishkower in ‘Yentl’, 1983
Glenn Close as “MawMaw” Vance in ‘Hillbilly Elergy’, 2020
None of the three won either award for their role. I haven’t seen the other two films.
I felt bad for making fun of Close’s ridiculously over-the-top hillbilly grandma character (she makes Granny Clampett seem milquetoast in comparison) after I found at the end of the film she was based on J.D.’s real life grandma.
