Sounds like the Russians are in charge.
Flight Ops from a carrier are always dangerous. Wonder what the cause was, whether it was vertical or standard approach.
What does the fighter jet identify as?
Is a show of strength done by royally messing up?
Bad timing. Or should I say Biden timing.
Standard carrier landings are referred to as a controlled crash.
In my limited experience the navy doesn’t usually get too bent out of shape as long as the aircrew survive.
U.S. Pacific Fleet:
pilot in stable condition after ejecting safely
three sailors transported to Manila
for treatment are also in stable condition
WOW! If this isn’t an omen what is? God in heaven deliver us from this mad court jester! Help us!
If the Navy can’t skipper ships without failing at the basics of not crashing into cargo ships, who thinks they’ll get complex flight operations correct?
Very dangerous, not only for the pilots, but for all the flight crew who work on the deck.
Aircraft carrier flight deck ops are commonly understood to be one of the most dangerous jobs there is.
My thinking exactly.
...years ago, I remember a shipmate who was a flattop crew member on the flight deck when one of the “wires” snapped during a “trap”...injured quite a number of those folks on the flight deck....
Sounds like Biden is in charge.
Debris.
China celebrates.
Or McCain is back.
...when the F-35C Lightning II aircraft was attempting to land
—
$80M gone, just like that
This isn’t the only naval incident in the South China Sea in the last couple years.
