Sure. Sure. Sure.

What European country has Russia corrupted or influenced? As compared to the US? Are you aware of how the US orchestrated the regime change in Ukraine? They even bragged about it.

No people should have to live under a genocidal maniac that the Russia brings to its colonial subjects…. I guess when the Ukrainians did it to ethnic Russians living in Ukraine, that was A-OK….. https://www.veteranstoday.com/2022/04/04/bucha-massacre-and-genocide-of-ethnic-russians-in-ukraine/

Are we situational conservatives and a little genocide is ok…. What does being a Conservative have to do with what is happening in Ukraine? Where does it say that Conservatives have to be the worlds policeman?

Are you planning on heading over there, since you’re a conservative and fighting for what you think is right?

So a self identified Russian Nazi…..hmmmmm…..and you’ve verified his identity and background from the comfort of your living room, I’m guessing? Or from your access to some of files in Biden’s garage?

“Do they realize that their tax dollars are paying for this foreign war?”

We are paying for this war with borrowed money.

The "$100 Billion" is a bit misleading. Quite a bit of it extends substantially into the future / gets slow walked. I'm not sure what portion of it will have been delivered by the 1 year anniversary of this war, but, it's a lot less than $100 Billion.

So, we are not talking about $100 Billion per year.

Well, at least not yet.

Also... While there's no way to put an exact $$ figure on it, very little of what we have sent in the way of arms is our best or recent "stuff". Take those tanks for example. We have at least 3500 M1 / M1A1 tanks mothballed. We might eventually sell some, but likely most will end up scrapped or used in a WWIII but-somehow-stays-conventional scenario against Russia. (This assumes we are not stupid enough to try to invade mainland China!) They will be replaced by the Abrams X or something even more advanced...

So, what is an old M1A1 really worth? Half of its original cost and adjust for inflation? I doubt that's the figure that goes into a proud US announcement of another aid package to Ukraine.

Not really stable.

At least not until the USSR fell, but within a few years Yeltsie (Boris Yeltsin) was telling Bill Clinton to his face that Russia wanted all of Europe and all of Asia.

Tell me that is “stable” and I’ll laugh in your face.

I’m not guaranteeing anything.

Irrelevant.

I am. (guaranteeing what will happen given your premise.)

Simple study of the history and human nature...

You can laugh all you want.

Yeltsin was telling Clinton that because he knew Clinton was a beotch.

Do you find it amazing how so much bad sh*t happens when we have Democrat Presidents and not when we have someone like President Trump?

After the wall fell, Russia was on life support.

Yeltsin was nothing more than the loudmouth in the bar.

And given what had been happening, it’s safe to say Russia wouldn’t last a week against NATO.

That being said, that’s still no reason for the US to give Ukraine anything. Especially billions in cash to pay their politicians, Abrams tanks and everything else.

We have our own problems.

I’d rather our morals be....

The problem with that is you incorrectly assume that if we were not helping Ukraine, the morals would be as you wish.

That is wishful thinking.

Nukes. Sure thing.

World destruction. Sure thing. That’s what they want.

One goes, they all go. Life on this planet is over. But that’s what they’re going to do. You’re sure of it.

Simple study of human nature and history. The US is the only country that has ever used them. And now Russia is the boogeyman that will start nuclear destruction of the world.

Please cite your study of human nature and history that supports your premise.

Now, if a nuke does go off, and one may, I’m betting it’ll be some type of dirty bomb thing from a terrorist organization. Not Russia.

I know our morals wouldn’t be what I wish if we weren’t helping Ukraine. Our politicians have no desire to do anything to that effect.

Still doesn’t mean we should be giving away the farm to a corrupt little man and his corrupt country.

And, again, the only people truly suffering from everyone’s ‘I Heart Ukraine’, etc, are the Ukrainian people, who’ve become puppets to the US, NATO, the defense industry, and the warhawks.

No (eye roll), Yeltsin was not saying what HE wanted. At the time he knew Pootie was near to replacing him.

And it didn’t take too long (under 10 years) for Pootie and his pals to start making solid progress on their goals. (BTW, Pootie as an individual is marginally relevant — this is about virtually the entire path of Russia throughout history, minus setbacks like Reagan, or their post-war vs. Japan...)

Looking at this stuff in snapshots misses, well, almost everything. Yeltsin was talking in the context of at least a generation.

Oh, good God. I specifically stated that such a nuke war might well NOT be a US - Russia blow-up. At least not until well into it...

“It’s been a year and Russia is still fighting over Ukrainian villages in the border region. How exactly are they going to “take Europe” when can’t even take the area a few miles from the border? No, Russia isn’t going do anything. Other than bombing women and children is the usual Russian way. Their economy is weak and military is fake. It’s sad to see broken and defeated conservatives hoping KGB Putin will get a win for them. Not happening. Sorry.”

Exactly right

russia was *supposed* to take Ukraine in a week or two.

russia has been *losing* every day since then. They can’t beat Ukraine. They won’t be expanding their war...

To be fair, the end of WW1 laid most of the groundwork for WW2.

Then again, few anti-Ukraine posters want to discuss, say, Igor Girkin (long time Russian FSB in Eastern Ukraine).

“One argument I often hear is that the war cannot be allowed to spread. That’s right, but the war will spread unless Russia loses. If he can do so militarily, Russian President Vladimir Putin will march on to Moldova and then proceed from there, so the only way to contain his war is to support Ukraine fully.”

Why didn’t they arm themselves in the aftermath of Russia invading in 2014?

Why does the US taxpayers have to spent 100 billion plus in debt spending to defend a country boarding Russia that couldn’t be damned to even arm themselves adequately against their aggressive neighbor?
