I went to pharmacy school in Monroe. The whites in Monroe are mainly conservative. The blacks though many vote democrat are victims of black on black crime.
This man will not be convicted. The DA had no choice except to indite. I suspect he will not try real hard to convict.
Should the bystander decline to press charges, this could be settled by compensation for damages to the bystander.
Who was shot and killed?
Every article I can find only identifies the dead robber as “the suspect”. In other shootings we always see the victims named and get to view their pictures. So, why are the authorities and/or media holding back? Who was the perp? Am I the only catching this obvious omission?
You are indeed, a WISE and INFORMED Juror.
Of course not. Violate a long-standing FReeper tradition?
See Post 12.
Possibly. Reporters are not generally very clear.
YES!!! We the People must protect each other on the street and in the courtroom. Pettifogging nitpickers can get stuffed!
Many stores have a policy of compliance with robbery, even armed robbery.
If you don’t comply and fight back, they usually fire you.
You didn’t read the excerpt/post then, as the suspect was found lying in a pile of stolen money, transported to the hospital, and died.
See Post 12.
The importance of a jury of your peers becomes ever more important as the judicial system becomes more political.
Thanks for sharing your first hand experience.
There’s his mistake. Never talk to the cops. They are not on your side.
If I was the defense attorney, i would introduce into evidence the MANY cases where a robber left, returned and murdered people.
You are correct sir.
He left the scene afterwards. That’s a BIG no-no…
He should’ve called 911 right then and there.
Not guilty, next case!
911 is a joke.
So no perp ever stops their run at what they deem a good distance for a gun fight and turns to shoot? Rafus is a true American Hero and look how LA wants to treat him!
The guy in Texas at the diner who killed the robber left. I guess it’s not like a car wreck where you have to stay in Texas. Supposedly you don’t have to stay in Texas. Just hit’em and leave! lol
That’s the preferred protocol for such events, but he did the next best thing. I wouldn’t hold it against him.
“Police said the store clerk, Rafus Anderson, said he locked the store and left after the incident took place.
He then went to the Monroe Police Department where police said he gave a statement.”
