People better get on the stick and learn to cook/bake for themselves before the Socialists run all other food venues out of town!

Thanks, I will be using that.

Does Subway make their own bread or do they just bake the dough that they purchase from the mother company? Making bread and baking bread are completely different.

$20 an hour LOL! Hey why not make it $2000 an hour?

By the way, I was in a McDonalds last week in Connecticut, I think it was Darien Connecticut. Big mac with fries, no soda, nothing else.....$17.99

Guess how many people were there? ZERO. Just me and I walked out.

Joes inflation and leftist regulations are just so aaaahhhhsome!

Anyone who owns ANY kind of business in a blue state needs their head examined.

“Gavin Newsom said California is committed to ensuring that the men and women who have helped build our world-class economy are able to share in the state’s prosperity. Today’s action gives hardworking fast-food workers a stronger voice and seat at the table to set fair wages and critical health and safety standards across the industry.”

It also guarantees those workers will soon be UN-employed and on the taxpayer dole dumb ass.

No sabotaging food of customers they don’t like, no getting high on company time, no unions, no nothing. And robot waiters can be programmed to entertain. AI opens up possibilities.

franchisees, suppliers and McDonald’s “must engage to support our California McFamily”

What part of F.Y. is hard to understand?

The easiest and obvious choice!

$41,600 per year is pretty good
money for the illegals slapping

I’ve long thought that the goal of leftist politicians on this stuff was to ensure that all an uneducated, low-information, unskilled person needs to do is get any kind of entry-level job, and then the politicians will manufacture enough mandated pay raises to eventually make them comfortable. Can’t think of a more blatant way to buy votes on a massive scale. No need to better yourself and move up the ladder through effort and determination. The “living wage” demagoguery will ensure that they don’t even need to try.

The other problem this causes is that it fuels wage inflation across the board at every level, which just exacerbates the wage/price spiral. We will never get inflation under control if we just keep inflating everyone’s wages in a knee-jerk reaction to it.

I purchased a McDonald’s meal on my way from Maryland to Florida yesterday. It consisted of a Big Mac, large fries, a large drink and an apple pie. It cost me $11.28.

Imagine what that meal will cost a customer in Kookiefornia after this law goes into effect.

So with this legislation, Skippy McBurgerflipper is going to make more per hour ($20/hr) flipping ten cent mystery meat pucks than a Utility Locator ($17.61/hr) who’s responsible for accurately marking out millions of dollars worth of critical infrastructure by looking up and understanding technical prints of underground utilities, finding access points, isolating and putting a tone on the utility and marking it out.

In the Soviet Union, well paid jobs were those that gave the worker a chance to make money on the side.

Want to be a physician? You get your state pittance, and nothing else, until, maybe, you have been on the job for twenty-thirty years, when you can become a clinic director, and sell certificates that a healthy young man is physically unfit for conscription into the military.

Those who were intelligent, able, and ambitious, competed to be taxi drivers in the few big cities with westerners. Those taxi drivers could make rubles off the books by not turning on the meter, pimp, buy hard currency from tourists, end trade in black market goods.

From the new law:

“Fast food restaurant” shall not include an establishment that on September 15, 2023, operates a bakery that produces for sale on the establishment’s premises bread, as defined under Part 136 of Subchapter B of Chapter I of Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations, so long as it continues to operate such a bakery. This exemption applies only where the establishment produces for sale bread as a stand-alone menu item, and does not apply if the bread is available for sale solely as part of another menu item.
I wonder who paid to have that little gem added and how much it cost. Not Subway since they only bake bread for their subs. Maybe it's for Panera.
