When I did a Duck Duck Go search for Transgender Day of Visibility and put in the years 2024, 2023, 2022, and 2021, I get a hit right away about a presidential proclamation for those years. I get no hits for the years Trump was president and none for when Obama was president, even though this day has existed for 15 years.
There are more major news articles this year about Transgender Day of Visibility compared to previous years. In previous years, a lot of the web hits were for local articles about what particular towns or churches (mainly Unitarian) were doing to recognize the day.
It seems to me that this day was started 15 years ago as a payoff to the letter crowd for supporting Obama and now has only recently been included in big deal proclamations by Biden in 2021 because the Demonrats knew Easter was going to fall on March 31 in a few years and they wanted to mess with Easter but claim they really weren’t messing with Easter.
