Europe has never been thrilled with Israel, from the beginning, mostly due to euro-arab oil politics. That, plus endemic antisemitic attitudes, contribute to relative indifference if not outright hostility to Israel’s existence. This granting of nationhood to palestine would be intended as a potential nail in Israel’s coffin.
Nobody wants to remember the obvious, mostly because Jordan doesn’t want these bums and vagrants either. Last time Jordan showed hospitality to palies, they tried to overthrow the Jordanian government and take charge.
