algorelione positioned himself to be as close as he could get to W as the Bushes shook hands and took their seats in the Cathedral. I noticed that Gore stood two rows back waiting for W to shake his hand, but for whatever reasons, W didn't throw his body across two pews to do that. The disappointment on al's face was tangible as he sat down, dejected.

I'm still wondering if algorelione got an invitation to the service, or got in because he whined to blubba and blubba got him in, since they went there in the same car.

I figured they stuck Bar there to keep billyjeff in line. Hehehe. Bill had to sit between the current president's mother and his own WINO (wife in name only).

Thanks for this thread and the photographs. I am so glad that President Bush made the visit to the rescuers in New York. His remarks were solid and reassuring. I made it home in time to see the Memorial Service on television and was blessed by it. Our friend, COL Roy Wallace was on Larry King Live last night describing the terrible scene of the crash at the Pentagon. When questioned by Larry King about his opinion of a future retaliation Roy expressed his total support of our Commander in Chief. We were proud of him. But, we are most proud of our President.

The President was magnificent and moving, and I thought as I heard the responses to his strength, the American public is finally seeing what we here on this thread have seen from the beginning in this man; his dignity, strength, warmth, humility, resolve, and patriotism. For us there are no surprises here.

Dittos and well stated. And we also know from the look on his face during his speeches since Tuesday that those who committed these horrible atrocities should be VERY, very afraid.

That's the photo, and it moves me to tears. Father reaching out to son, filled with pride, but knowing first hand the gravity of what he is now going through. What a poignant moment!

Even if you are 'used to' or expecting the danger that comes with the Presidency, how horrifying Tuesday must have been for President Bush 41, and for Barbara knowing their son was in such imminent danger. (I can't even think about how Laura felt that day).

This picture has the ability to reduce me to tears. I am looking at my leaders and I feel safe and I thank God.

To paraphrase JFK "We are all New Yorkers"

Here's the whole song. . .

For Such a Time as This

from "The Way Home"
written by Wayne Watson

Now, all I have is now
To be faithful
To be holy
And to shine
Lighting up the darkness
Right now, I really have no choice
But to voice the truth to the nations
A generation looking for God

For such a time as this
I was placed upon the earth
To hear the voice of God
And do His will
Whatever it is
For such a time as this
For now and all the days He gives
I am here, I am here
And I am His
For such a time as this

You - do you ever wonder why
Seems like the grass is always greener
Under everybody else's sky
But right here, right here for this time and place
You can live a mirror of His mercy
A forgiven image of grace

Chorus

Can't change what's happened till now
But we can change what will be
By living in holiness
That the world will see Jesus

Chorus

Thank you, dear rintense. I had the privilege yesterday to attend a very moving chapel ceremony filled with some of our nation's valiant military personnel, stationed here in California. I had been so horribly depressed since that terrible day, but this ceremony lifted my heart and spirit - with our President leading us, and these wonderful brave people willing to put their lives on the line for us, we will prevail.

That dog in #5 looks like it's trying to communicate with it's eyes all the horror it's seen to some kind and gentle person taking time to really understand. That's one good dog, you can tell. See, it's trying to lick him!

Your faithfulness in these posts - and these especially moving ones - is so very important. Thank God for your efforts. Thank God for our President at such a time as this.
