These are, no doubt, the ones who derive enjoyment out of setting fire to the homeless, removing stop signs from intersections, and listen to Marilyn Manson.
When I think about these people I just remember the line from the old Phil Collins tune..."If you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand...." I would not save their sorry hides if they begged me. They are utterly worthless "people".

The wave of patriotism across the country hasn't reached many area teen-agers who questioned Friday the need to retaliate and vowed not to fight if called upon for duty.
WHAT THE HELL EVER. Disrespectful little punks. Any American not willing to fight for their country if called to duty should not be able to take advantage of the benefits offered by being an American.

Pace, pace, pace. Yes what these kids are cowards and misguided, but hopefully that can be corrected. Let us not be too willing to consign them to a brutal death before they have even reached 18!

I'd be willing to bet a lot of these "students" aren't citizens, but foreign exchange students. The left have to make their cause larger than it really is. Of course, at that age most kids can't see past the hormone fog.
I know students at our elementary school have brought food, blankets, etc for the relief effort. They are having a patriotic sing-along this week(parents invited). Our principal sent home a memo because the kids were discussing the "greatest attack since Pearl Harbour". Red, White, and Blue day was on Friday. We also have an assembly for veterans on Veteran's Day, every year. So don't let the spin get to you. Most of them know what's at stake, ;)

The war on drugs doesn't appear to have interrupted your obviously large personal supply. Why don't you try posting again when you're sober.

These little bastards are pathetic. The reason they have the right to even say these things is because people have fought, bled and died for their little ingrate @sses.
I'll bet they would fight for their Air Jordans or their future welfare checks though.

"I'm not in a rush to help our country because our country is already messed up." I sure wish this kid would realize that only in a democratic country could they say something like this about their country without risking being arrested, tortured, jailed, or even executed.
Idiot. Then again, it is the mission of the armed forces to protect our country so stupid people can say stupid things - one of the "gifts" of democracy, I guess...

I am in total SHOCK the way ALOT OF the young man are responding across America! The liberals have done a wonderful job indoctrinating or brainwashing our youth! GOD HELP US!
To: freeplancer
"Ridiculous little commies."I never thought I'd say this, but even Communists are better than these horrid, mindless, selfish brats. Many of our Red enemies have had the courage and commitment to fight and die for their convictions, misguided though they be.

Sick!

I can now state with uneqivocal certainty that if any terrorist attack ever occurs in the Bay Area - SF, Oakland, Berkeley, anywhere in that hate-America zone - I will not be stepping in line to help. No rushing to the scene to help with disaster relief efforts. Not even donating a single dime to victims' funds, unless I can be 100% assured they will go to people that weren't consumed with anti-US hate beforehand, such as hurt police or firemen. Let them deal with it THEMSELVES. That's what socialism is all about, right?

There are some good people (friends of mine) in Sonoma and San Rafael, perhaps I should tell them to move eh?

"How are you going to defend a nation if that nation can't defend against things like homelessness," I...uh...err...ah, forget it. It's not worth my breath.

Jane Senemen is news editor of the Berkeley High School Yellow Jacket. By the way, why is a "legitimate" newspaper like the Alameda Times-Star giving over their news space to the rantings of a HIGH-SCHOOL STUDENT?

This is what happens when you have granola munching, Birkenstocked, '60's draft dodgers (who earned the PhDs and teaching certificates using their deferrment status) running the Northern California government school system. What else would you expect? These kids are a product of their upbringing. BTW: Isn't the Oakland, California school system where "Ebonics" originated?</font size>

These self-absorbed student losers are definitely NOT part of the next Greatest Generation.
To: jwalsh07
Almost makes me want to support a draft. Me too but with this punk's attitude, we should draft him to bin Lauden's army and he can stay there when he's done.

"... I love myself too much," said Amir Kellogg, 17..."
That's the problem out there - totally self absorbed about nothing to get excited over. Cowardly selfishness is the theme amongst out youth.

So sad we are raising a bunch of brats like this.
I have 3 kids, 19, 18 and 15. All, ALL, they and all their friends are willing to fight for Freedom. I am so glad I live in the Mid-west so my kids grew up with values and morals that made this country great.
