...we will, if successful, manage this chronic threat My thoughts exactly. I tuned in to hear Rush reiterating this (probably right *after* reading the letter, I suppose).

How many times do you have to see draft dodger allegations bounce harmlessly off of baby boomers before you give it a rest? It's now proved completely ineffective against Quayle, Clinton, Gingrich, Gramm, W, just to name the most prominent. No boomer I know is going to hold staying out of the service during Vietnam against a fellow boomer.

Thanks, buddy.

Well, sir you are dead wrong. I am a serious person whether you like me saying it or not. Rush has a lot more brains than you do. His past has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the events going on today. This is a much different deal today than the Vietnam deal. We are in a culture war and you know it, I know it and Rush knows it. Political correctness and the policies of the last eight years was what led to these events. As Bush said, you are either with us or you are with the terrorists. Rush is on our side and I'm with him on this and I have a lot more brains than you.
As another poster said on this thread you are indeed insufferably unpleasent. I think you'd be a lot happier over at Democrats Underground than here at Free Republic.
Regards.

Sounds about right to me, IF:
/1/We have the will.
/2/Our leaders can stand being called "assassins and death squad leaders" when suddenly "respected clerics and leaders" turn up dead.
It's time to put this draft dodger nonsense to rest. What people did in the past has absolutly nothing to do with what's going on today. You demorats need to grow up and get a life.

"I started by saying there are 7900 dead at the WTC and Pentagon, and Rush is calling for Americans to go to war. 40,000 were dead in Vietnam when he was REQUIRED to report for an Armed Services physical. He DID NOT go.""Parse like Clinton all you like; if he had a problem they would have found it. But he was too SCARED to risk that, so he went to his family doctor and he's never revealed what transpired there."
Rush recently revealed he had some surgery done for a condition he has had lifelong and I believe this is what you are referring to. This conversation was within the past year or so but, he did not specifically say WHAT the condition was, only that he had surgery to correct it. If it - his condition - is of a private nature, do you blame the man for not being specific? Hell, Clinton to this day won't give up his medical records and we paid for his damn physicals! I'm sure there are more Rush listeners out there who can back me on this!

Only thing is: if we declare war-retroactive to 09/11/01-we wipe out fire and casualty insurance coverage for everybody who sustained ( non-life insurance ) losses.Every policy I've ever seen excludes " acts of war " . For the time being, we may be better off calling it a "crime" , and going in "hot pursuit" of those responsible.
To: soozla & all
What is so transparently obvious with iamfarouk is that he only wants to argue one, practically unrelated, topic here. This thread is a celebrative and proud look at the potential might and will of America and her military. He has not even pretended to touch on the real focus here. It appears that we are not even at war in his "world".
He saw Rush Limbaugh in the title and turned it into an invitation to bash Rush. The poster is an insignificant little worm that hides behind a monitor and flails at a man that doesn't even know or care that he exists. How long do we watch a demented mind before we realize that logic does not reach it? Maybe someone could send him a Rush dart board and he could be happy for the rest of his life.
To: E.G.C.
I know nothing about Limbaugh and the draft, but I find the comparison between the level of outrage over the soldiers killed in Vietnam and the civilians killed on 9-11 to be a stretch at best. I would expect that many who were ambivalent about Vietnam have no lack of clarity about this present evil.

So in other words, It's a condition that prevents one from serving in the army, right? Only if you insist and whine enough to make a issue out of it by doing stuff like contacting your congressman and crying about how "the bad mans are being mean to me!"
On the other hand,I know of several people who went AWOL from hospitals in VN to keep from being medi-evaced to Japan. I even know one who left the army hospital at Pleiku and hitchhiked to Kontum with a headwound. I personally also know another guy who went to VN as a infantryman with a dislocated shoulder and a pulled muscle in his lower back.I knew two NCO's on active duty AND jump status that came back from VN with wooden legs.
If you WANTED to serve, you could serve. If you wanted a excuse to not serve, you could look around and find one if you either looked hard enough or lied. I think Bruce Springsteen told them he was queer to keep from getting drafted. Then again,Little Brucie may have gone if the NVA had drafted him. He just wasn't willing to fight for America.
To: Travis McGee
/1/We have the will. If by "we" you mean members of the Spec Ops community, don't worry about this. Somebody blew the bugle. That's all that's needed. Hell, even as fat, old, and crippled as I am,I'm actually dreaming about being in the mountains of Afghanistan on trail watch with a scoped rifle. I'm 22 again, young, wild, free, healthy, and life is GOOD! Then I wake up.Getting old ain't for sissies.
/2/Our leaders can stand being called "assassins and death squad
Ahhh, there is the question for the ages. As a general rule, there is no creature in nature more cowardly than a politician. I will admit to being optimistic for the 1st 6 months, anyhow. After that, the Dims will be out playing their little childhood games.
To: sneakypete
After that, the Dims will be out playing their little childhood games. Let's just pray that more people have their number by then. They will have quite a balancing act with a successful progression against the terrorists and their beloved campaigns of 2002. If nothing else, it should be fun to see them try to play both sides of the field.
To: iamfarouk
You, sir, are lacking in the debate department. Everything coming from you shows your contempt for Rush Limbaugh, and nothing else. Sheer jealousy, I suspect. What's the problem? Your radio show get cancelled?
To: New Horizon
And he STILL didn't answer my question!
