Nuclear, Biological, & Chemical Warfare- Survival Skills, Pt. II
various websites | 10-01-01 | backhoe

Posted on 10/01/2001 5:29:31 PM PDT by backhoe

Here is a collection of links to information you need about Nuclear, Biological & Chemical Warfare- ABC to us oldtimers.

This second thread refines & extracts more links and information you may need. Get it beforehand!

Chances of survival are increased by knowledge and understanding of the capabilities and limitations of each class of weapons.

It is my hope that those of you who have further knowledge, or links, regarding this will add to it-- and pass it along the 'net.

The experts say that the only creatures that will live through a nuclear war are rats and cockroaches. Do you know what that means? If there's a nuclear war, get under the damn refrigerator!!

Geez man, you're scaring me.

Almost as terrifying is the criminal neglect by the evil Clinton administration since the beginning of the war in 1993, with the first attempt by al-Queba to destroy the World Trade Center.

Hello?

Why were these monsters allowed to prosper for eight long horrific years.

I personally blame Bill Clinton, his sociopathic, evil wife Hillary, and the endlessly vile Janet Reno (Democrats all) for corrupting and emasculating the FBI, Department of Justice, CIA, & INS. They might as well have been on Osama bin Laden's payroll.

Thanks for looking, & feel free to copy, resend, and forward anything you like all over the web.

On the first thread I mentioned:

The late writer Pat Frank ( Alas, Babylon! & How to Survive the H-Bomb- and Why...) had a theory that if enough Americans prepared for nuclear war, the "winnability" of it would be questioned by the Kremlin, and they'd think twice about striking us. Maybe the same idea would hold true here? It can't hurt to arm yourself with knowledge.

Has anyone priced 1 pound of Terramycin tablets?

I'm working the list on the link...

http://iseek.com/freerepublic/florida/bestof/civil.htm

I find that's 18 bottles of 100 tablets each (250 mg per tablet) at $37.95 per bottle. Or $680 per person. This is at ...

http://store.yahoo.com/animalmedicstore/terscourtabb1.html

Did I do the math wrong?

A family of seven would be ... $4780 ... something's wrong here.

All the other items on the suggested list are under $50 per person each.

Excuse the brevity, I'm fixing dinner-- I don't know about your math, but cheaper meds are available... from the first thread:

For informational purposes:

To: American in Israel

"Also keep in mind that doxycycline or cyproflaxin antibiotics are pretty effective against most of the germs used in bio warfare."

Both can be found/ordered here.

Be advised, I strongly DO NOT recommend self-dosing without advice from an MD or medic, but FYI, some overseas antibiotics, and some veterinary antibiotics, are quite cheap. Someone here on FR had more links to web-purchasing these meds, but dam' if I can find them now!

Another thing I can't find is my copy of ( ??? ) Ragnar Benson's "Survival Medicine" ( again ??? not sure of exact spelling or title ) which details using veterinary meds on humans, along with the warnings & cautions on content, dosage, dangers of misdiagnosis, etc.

I say again-- For informational purposes only!

I have this superstition that if you prepare for bad things, they never happen. Like they way a housefull of guns and years of shooting practice guarantees I'll never actually fire my gun in anger.

FYI- from another post:

To: Bob Evans and all others

JUST THE FACTS....

  • 100 million lethal doses per gram of anthrax material (100,000 times deadlier than the deadliest chemical warfare agent).
  • Silent, invisible killer.
  • Inhalational anthrax is virtually always fatal.
  • Low cost of producing the anthrax material.
  • Not high-technology. Knowledge is widely available.
  • Easy to produce in large quantities.
  • It is extremely stable. It can be stored almost indefinitely as a dry powder.
  • It can be loaded, in a freeze-dried condition, in munitions or disseminated as an aerosol with crude sprayers.
  • Through cuts or breaks in the skin resulting from contact with an infected animal (cutaneous anthrax), resulting in local and possibly systemic (bloodstream) infection.
  • From breathing anthrax spores (termed "woolsorters" disease) resulting in an infection of the lungs (inhalational anthrax).
  • From eating infected meat, resulting in gastrointestinal infection (gastrointestinal anthrax). Gastrointestinal anthrax is generally not considered a threat to U.S. forces.
  • For contact or cutaneous anthrax, itching will occur at the site of exposure followed by the formation of a lesion. Untreated contact anthrax has a fatality rate of 5-20 percent, but with effective antibiotic treatment, few deaths occur.
  • Initial symptoms for inhalational anthrax are generally non-specific: low grade fever, a dry hacking cough, and weakness. The person may briefly improve after 2 to 4 days; however within 24 hours after this brief improvement, respiratory distress occurs with shock and death following shortly thereafter.

Random flag- here's more---

Here's some info about a couple of books that are "good to have standing by" in case of medical emergency:

Special Forces Medical Handbook ST-31-91B

Survivalist's Medicine Chest by Ragnar Benson, ISBN # 0-87364-256-2

Later copies of SFMH are available, and on CD- but remember a CD-ROM or computer may not work in an emergency!

These & other titles were published here:

-Paladin Press--

and might also be here:

-Delta Press--

I have not checked recently, be so advised.

Here's another good link for free online military training manuals about survival, NBC etc. Click on "Enter library" and then select "field manuals". Military manuals online

The "Good Stuff Maynard" link you have that I posted earlier has been nuetered due to the situation in Afghanistan. Another good reason to archive good websites to your hard drive in case you cannot access them via the Internet for whatever reason.

You can save websites onto your hard drive using Micro$oft's Internet Explorer by clicking the "File "drop down menu in the upper left of your browser window, then click "Save as". Then under "Save as", click and select .mht (web archive file). Also type in the folder you want to save the info to. This will save the website text and pics into one file that your browser can view anytime offline.

The five largest metro areas are the most dangerous. I hope any freeper who can afford to is packed up and ready to leave the top five metro areas at the first sign of a bomb dropping from a US bomber or the first sign of heavy fighting by our special forces. That is when the terrorists will strike.

TY for your hard work, friend. Right now, 50% of all Americans think that they are very likely to become victims of a terrorist attack. My personal opinion is that each individual stands a very low chance.... UNLESS population control fanatics are involved. [Not talking about typical pop control people, but the ultra-extreme kind that wants to herd people to conform with the UN map.] And I don't think that Bush is in with them. We might lose an entire metro area to a nuclear bomb. That would not be pop control. They would prefer some bio weapon that only kills humans, something that gets time to spread. And the ultra-fanatics could blame it all on mid east terrorists. This is very unlikely to happen, but I would blame them if it got to a 20-25% death rate for people at home, not the Islamics, who simply could not accomplish that level of destruction without numerous nuclear bombs.

BTW, this gloomy thinking is worst-case scenario. Sad-am the Shoeshine Boy Insane called for terrorist support back during Desert Storm. Guess what? We hardly suffered from anything of note at home. That is best case scenario.

One thing that gives me comfort is knowing that the day of world-wide prayer was probably record-breaking. I believe in prayer, because about 30% of the people who pray have enough faith to make a difference, and the level of faith put in that day of prayer was likely record-breaking as well. Thank God we have a Christian President who dared to call for prayer! He isn't perfect. But that one day could be the most significant thing any US president ever did.

God bless you again for your hard work. Freegards....
