Luis, you are truly a gifted writer. But, more importantly you are such an asset to this country. I am so glad that your family came to America.
Lydia and Jimmy sound so nice. They remind me of my Uncle Nick and Aunt Evelyn. Gosh this has brought back so many memories and made me shed quite a few tears tonight. But, they are cleansing, healing tears that definitely needed to come out. Thanks for such a patriotic story to help get my heart in the right place.

HI!
Long time no see!
Glad you got here, happy that I was able to bring back some good memories.
In Jimmy, I always saw an American hero.
Still do today, more than ever.

Oh, great M. I think I saw a reply from Sgt Mike earlier in this thread. Last I heard of Redrock was in relation to Klamath Falls. Glad to hear he is okay. Thanks

That was really beautiful, Luis. Thank you very much. I hope you don't mind that I saved it to my hard drive.

These are the immigrants I remember. They never took for granted what so many other of their American neighbors did. While I was born here, I learned how fortunate I was to be an American from so many of the people that immigrated. It's a wonderful story.
P.S. Can you imagine that someone stole the flag off of my mailbox?! I can't. I can't believe it! If they had knocked on my door, I would have gladly given it to them. My only hope is that they are flying it and did not burn it.
To: Luis Gonzalez
Thanks, Luis. Now, I know what I'm going to say to the sky every morning when I put our hard-found flag up.
To: Badray
No problem at all my friend.
Thanks for the kind words.

"Can you imagine that someone stole the flag off of my mailbox?!"I can. There was a story down here the week after the attack, some kid got busted stealing flags. He had 40+ in his car.
The father was so embarrased.
Thanks for stopping by.
