Fact 1- The Clinton Administration played a key role in creating the Taliban by giving a "green light" to Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States to organize, fund and direct the terrorist movement. Richard Labeviere in his prologue to the American edition of his book, published last year, he says that between 1994 and 1997, "Bill Clinton was happy to allow Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to support the Taliban, seeing them as a useful counterbalance to Irans influence " In August 1998, the situation seemed to change when Bin Laden was blamed for the destruction of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. Bin Laden was placed on the FBIs Most Wanted List and was reported to be in Afghanistan. But Labeviere says the State Department did not exert any real pressure on the Taliban to apprehend him.
Fact 2- Jack Kelley wrote a story for USA Today that "prominent businessmen in Saudi Arabia continue to transfer tens of million of dollars to bank accounts linked to Osama Bin Laden " Citing senior U.S. intelligence officials and a Saudi government document, Kelley said the money transfers had begun five years before that. Kelly said one of the businessmen under investigation, Mohammad Hussein al-Amoudi, runs the largest bank in Saudi Arabia, as well as the Capitol Trust Bank in New York and London. Amoudis lawyer was Clinton friend Vernon Jordan.
Fact 3- Clinton administration had actually helped support Osama bin Ladens al-Qaeda terrorist organization. This was done partly through support of the Kosovo Liberation Army, the KLA, in its war against Serbia. The core of the KLA were radical Muslim Marxists who trafficked in heroin, and were linked to bin Laden.
Fact 4- The Pentagon presented the ex-president with information pinpointing the terrorist's whereabouts along with a plan to take him out. But, according to the AP, Clinton reportedly took a pass on the proposal, leaving bin Laden in place while his apparent subordinates planned and executed Sept. 11ths devastating attacks.
Fact 5- The Clinton administration had secretly informed Pakistan and Saudi Arabia that it would not try to overthrow the Taliban.
Fact 6- In 1996, Sudan offered to arrest bin Laden, then living in its capital city, and turn him over to American authorities, the Washington Post and several British newspapers reported last week.
Fact 7- The former president's statements left the impression that he was hot on the trail of bin Laden and came excruciatingly close to killing him. But one of Clinton's top military commanders, who was deeply involved in the Afghanistan operation, has a different recollection. In an interview with National Review Online, retired general Anthony Zinni, commander of U.S. forces in the region at the time, described the 1998 cruise-missile raid as a "million-to-one-shot."
Fact 8- The Gore Commission on airline security headed by none other than Al Gore failed to implement increased airline security measures after Clinton/Gore received a series of campaign donations totaling $627,000 and $313,500 following that.
Fact 9- The intelligence budget, while classified, has been gutted during the Clinton years, according to congressional sources.
Fact 10- During eight years, Clinton decimated Americas military. Our forces were cut almost in half under his stewardship.
Fact 11- Research and development on all new weapons systems were brought almost to a halt as other nations continued to build under Clinton.
Fact 12- Bill Clinton destroyed nearly our entire arsenal of tactical nuclear weapons.
Fact 13- The Clinton administration took the same position taken by the Carter administration in disregarding human intelligence.
Fact 14- Bill Clinton along with another scandalous democrat Toricelli instituted the Toricelli principal because Clinton knew he couldnt just tell them to quit recruiting. What the Toricelli principal did was it that it laid out a stringent set of criteria for recruiting informants, etc. The criteria was: no people who had violated human rights, no people who were criminals, etc. The requirements were so high that people in a position to have inside information were off limits for recruitment. That is one negative impact. The other placing the decision in the hands of Washington bureaucrats instead of field agents. Bill OReilly at the FNC interviewed 5 station chiefs that said point blank that they gave up recruitment because of the extremity of recruitment under the Toricelli principal.
Fact 15- There is a perceived notion among our enemies that America is weaker after the 8-year tenure of Clinton.
Fact 16- The Clinton administration did not place Afghanistan on the list of nations (rogue states) that sponsor terrorism.
Fact 18- The Clinton administration never placed sanctions on Afghanistan for harboring Bin Laden.
Fact 19- The Clinton administration position : In general, sources tell CNN, the State Department believes that state-sponsored terrorism, as a whole, is less of a concern. Fact 19- The Clinton administration allowed Iraq to rebuild its military forces: it now has 5,000 tanks and the same number of troops before the invasion of Kuwait.
Fact 20- In 1998 Clinton withdrew U.S. demands that Saddam allow U.N. inspectors to monitor weapons programs. After the withdraw, Clinton allowed billions to flow into Iraq by allowing them to export oil.
I can't remember who's quote that is but it's true. As much as most of us here hate it, Bill Clinton was elected twice as President by the voters in this country. Since the Demoratic Party sponsored him, we should do everything in our power to remind voters of that going forward. Those who voted that sleazeball into office should go into the voting booth with terrible pangs of guilt (at least those capable of feeling shame).
I was so incensed when he was re-elected in 1996 I didn't know what to do. I would never turn my back on this country but I sure didn't like living here with him as "my" President. How does one fund Soccer Mom Re-education Camps?
Don't know why, but it always hard for me to describe his time in office as a "term." There are so many other words that come to mind: crime spree, trashing of our country, period of treason, free rape period.
Anyway, and back to the point, how does the media let him get away with this garbage? (hint: I already know the answer)

CLINTON SLAPS SANCTIONS ON BIN LADEN'S AFGHAN ALLIES
By NILES LATHEM
President Clinton slapped Afghanistan's ruling Taleban militia with tough economic sanctions yesterday, accusing it of "harboring and sheltering," Osama bin Laden, the world's most dangerous terrorist.
The president said he plans to block most of the Taleban's financial assets in this country as well as ban trade between the United States and Afghanistan.
He said the move is in response to the Taleban's refusal to hand over the Saudi terrorist who has been indicted in federal court in Manhattan for organizing last summer's twin bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.
The president's executive order affects about $24 million worth of trade between the two countries and will put on hold a multimillion-dollar satellite phone deal with New Jersey-based Telephone Systems International, State Department officials said last night....." http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a3782f7b37395.htm
