Patent's got a big ole Catholic distribution list.
As a Catholic, I make sure to invite at least two Baptists to go with me when I go fishing.
If I invite just one, he'll drink all the beer.

I remember that day. I was in 6th grade and Sister Louise took our class (about 15 kids - that was the size of the entire 6th grade) over to the convent to watch it on TV. She was also the principal of the school, so we had "pull" on those kinds of things.

It wasn't just a good day for Catholics worldwide.Saying "Be not Afraid" as he took on his new role began the deathmarch of the Soviet Union. WASP's like me can also applaud that day, too.

Viva il papa! I went to see the Pope when he first came to Chicago, right after his election...talk about an enthusiastic audience... although I was only 10, I remember that day vividly. Saw il papa again in Rome on a school trip with fellow students at my Marionhill missionary school...
RC bumpus from an alumnus of a Dominican sisters' high school. BTW, FWIW do y'all realize that according to the CIA, we Catholics make up 28% of this great country?

God Bless you, il papa! Amen! I guess he feels he has got two years to go on his sentence, the 25 to Match St. Peter's. Anyway, what a man.
