Because it works. Their beliefs can't win in the "marketplace of ideas"--logical analysis and thought always prove conservative ideas to be the best. So the Left brings out their big stick...Hate.
We've been brought up that Hate is a Bad Thing, right? So if they can successfully define somebody as a Hater--racist, homophobic, sexist, whatever--then that person must be a really bad person, and their ideas are automatically discounted. And with liberals controlling the majority of the publicity organs in the country--Hollyweird, the mass media, etc.--and the majority of the colleges, it's very easy for them to define whoever they want as a Hater.

I think that it is refreshing to see some young people standing up for what is truly an intelligent debate. Whether this young lady agrees with what Rev. Peterson says, she knows that it is intelligent to listen and decide for yourself.
The left can not make a rational argument. Almost every arguement is based on emotion, conjecture, or both! Since intelligent people make intelligent arguements, this specifically EXCLUDES the left. I wonder if they will be protesting for dummy's rights? (oh, sorry, that is what democRATs do everyday)

Jesse Lee Peterson is not HATEFUL; he is TRUTHFUL.
Which is MUCH more dangerous - to the small minds of academia.

Dale Goodwin, public relations director for Gonzaga, wouldn't comment directly on the supposed spat between faculty and Stoltz but said Peterson's presence "forced people to think about their feelings and thoughts and created campus-wide discussion. I think it probably got people to thinking – which was ultimately the purpose of the presentation."
