The drive down HWY-89 is awesome. The woods there are so dense that talking in a normal voice seems to carry forever I guess because the sound bounces between the closely spaced trees.

You're not exaggerating one bit.
The most beautiful country I've ever seen in my life is along that road.

We knew of a town called, "Westwood" located off 89 on a small, gravel road.
This place was an honest-to-goodness, "commune" -- populated by drop-out hippies!
Very *mellow* place.

...only in CA.
