The image will load faster if you include the width and height, as in reply #31. Um, no it won't.
It'll load at exactly the same speed either way.
However, without it people using Netscape will not be able to see anything that appears below the image on the page until it at least receives enough of the image file to get the image header which contains the image's height and width, so the page will *seem* to load faster if you pre-specify the size of the image.
This is because Netscape is brain-damaged. I program for a living -- the Netscape programmers must have been on heavy drugs to design it the way they did.
Internet Explorer, on the other hand, will show the entire page immediately even before it gets any image headers, by leaving a bit of space for the image to eventually be put in, and if the image turns out larger than IE's guess, it instantly shuffles the page arrangement around to make room. This makes perfect sense, and I don't know why Netscape still does page loading the stone-aged way.
I positively hate this behavior of Netscape (having to wait for the images to show up before it'll even show me the text on the page is insane, unnecessary, and annoying as hell), and I'll never even consider using Netscape again unless they fix it.

Thanks everyone... You were all so helpful. I have two other kids but this is too much trouble so this is the last kid photo. THANKS TO ALL.

If you see the empty box with a red X,
it means the picture cannot be retrieved from the host.
This is not likely to be a problem on your end
server might be down or site may not allow linking
there are a lot of possible reasons.

If you're limited on transfer at your web-host\ISP space, check out
photos.onebigvillage.com.
They allow 20 megs of daily transfer. I add a little to the bottom of images so their logo doesn't cover anything and can be cropped off.
What's really nice, they give you the HTML code to post the pic in forums, just have to copy and paste.

.....this is the last kid photo ..... Bummer. She's beautiful, looks very athletic. I workout a lot but don't have the guts to post a pic.
And thank God my Mom isn't on FR to do it!!!!!!
Of course, the beach pic would be good practice for your new image host.....

She would be saying Motheerrrrr... if she saw what I have done, but I am safe: she doesn't go on here except when I show her something! Hey, Aerial, you found MY picture!!! :) This truly was fun you guys. I am glad others had the chance to learn as well.

Whoooaaaa!! I was just looking over some of the posts here, did you happen to think the pic I posted is
me ?!?!?!
It's from http://user.tninet.se/~prv247p/hatt/hatten.swf
I'm (at least) half that guy's age and have much better taste in "hatts".
This is "kinky Vinna", not Gun142....
