He gets better and better. Very inspirational speech. I am so proud that I voted for this man, and I haven't been able to say that in years. I am just sorry that Pubbies can only vote once.:-)

The UN was founded by European Socialists. Wilson, the 2nd worst president we ever had, wanted us in the "League of Nations". FDR, the worst, got us in. Alger Hiss, was also involved.

Time to get out.

The United Nations was founded in this cause. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

It would be better that Bush remove his left topsider and start slamming the podium, proclaiming somthing about the UN, history and a trash heap? Bush throws platitudes and then makes it very clear. "For every regime that sponsors terror, there is a price to be paid, and it will be paid." -- Pow!

Not everyone who voted for Bush thinks the United Nations is our saving grace and honest partner in freedom!

(Do I really HAVE to start throwing all the thread links on here? But then people would get mad on me for raining on their parade...)

You will find there are MANY people who voted for Bush who wish - and PRAY - that he would do just that!

And the day he does THAT, my dear, is the day I will come onto Free Republic, pop open a bottle of MUMM'S CHAMPAGNE, and raise a GLASS in his honor...because no president in my lifetime has ever had the nerve, the stomach, and the GUTS to free our beloved and sovereign nation from that rancid entanglement!

And it's about time (past it, rather) that someone did!

Hellllooooooo, stranger!! :-) :-)

We need to start relying on our strength, and our sovereignty, and our freedoms...not the insidious dictates of tinpots heading up the massive FRAUD SQUAD based in New York City, who have proved time and again that they are no friends of freedom, and no friends of ours.

I can guarantee that no assistance from the U.N. comes without their attempting to put a price tag on our liberty!

Heal Heel slamming and proclamations are what you pray for -- they accomplish nothing. Leaving the UN also accomplishes nothing. The same rancid people that currently inhabit the U.N. would still live on our planet. I say you don't go about advancing freedom in the world by being an isolationist. You seek change from within.

One riot, one Ranger!

"Let me just add, I was not an early Bush supporter back a million years ago during the primaries. But I saw him at a campaign rally and fell in love. He had enormous charisma and a unique ability to understand the longings after 8 years of Clinton. From that day on I have said that he was a sleeping giant, though I could have never imagined these times. He has yet to let me down."

His likeness should be up on Mt. Rushmore one day.

Yes, I thought that part about the U.N. seating a nation known for human rights abuses was especially revealing regarding the President's respect for the U.N.

But I liked this little tidbit as well:

"Let us never tolerate outrageous . . . malicious lies that attempt to shift the blame away from the terrorists themselves, away from the guilty"

Hmmmmm?? I wonder if the President was referring to x42's little commentary the previous evening where x42 tried to blame America for 9/11, saying it was our treatment of the Indians??

Interesting??

Not only was it substantial, it was probably exactly the opposite of what algore would have spoken - how many would take the bet that within 1 minute of opening his speech, he would have been apologizing for the U.S. and trying to appease the rest of the world??
