The nice thing about this place is that there are so many people with such wonderful ideas. The best thing about this place is the people who take those ideas and turn them into posts like this. Thanks a bunch.
I'm still going through my photos to find the best to send to you. It will have been taken 49 years ago, and I promise that you'll have it by next year.
Thanks again.

Well, then can I personally say to you, clamper, thank you for your service to your country and mine, and I appreciate you. I'd give you a hug if I could.
I haven't answered very many posts on the thread (am trying to send notes by private mail for the most part) to keep the posts made by you men and women that it was designed to honor. BUT, I did want to write you right here. Thank you, clamper. (I think you had the corvette, too - right?) :^)

A gracious and heartfelt thanks to all the vets. Your service to our country is much appreciated. Without each of you, freedom would only be a dream for those of us who recognize that we are blessed to have it.

Billie and Snow Bunny, you two are absolutely brilliant!
Billie, the setup of the pictures is fantastic! Also, I admire your persistence in posting this thread (5 hours...yikes!) You did an outstanding job!
Snow Bunny, you write so beautifully and with so much passion about our men and women in uniform that it's obvious how much you truly care for them.
Thank you both for taking all of the time and trouble involved to do this, not only for our heroic vets, but also for the rest of us so that we may have a place to express our thanks to them.
GOD BLESS OUR VETERANS!!!
I SALUTE YOU ALL!!!
To: 68-69TonkinGulfYatchClub
Thank you for all that you have done for our country while in uniform and thank you for all that you continually do on a daily basis here on FR for all of us. Your constant reminders, links, pings and alerts are very much appreciated, TGYC! A very happy Veteran's Day to you. I salute YOU!
Cheers! CC :)

I would like to give my own moment of silence on this day to my shipmates .... AME-3 Danny Cherry VA-93 and AME-2 Carl Blankenship VA-56 Who were killed in action Oct 29 1972 Danny and Karl were also my friends .........Danny was my best friend .....
Both now have their place of honor on our wall ...........
To: Billie
Thanks, Billie. I have the flag that was draped over my grandfather's (WW I vet) coffin at his funeral, and the Silver Star and Purple Heart from my Uncle (served in WW II), who perished in France in '44.
My best friend, who's a Marine vet, re-upped a couple of years ago, and is now in a very dangerous region.
