Inuit has many words for snow; English only has one.

I would judge, from this statement, that you are not a skier.

I have been and will acknowledge that skiers use a few more descriptive words, mainly adjectives that have fallen into use as nouns. That, however, is a red herring to my point, which I'm sure you are well aware of. Blurring the issue is a common tactic.

Could you SHOW me where I did this?

Why are you posting on this thread unless your ideas regarding HP differ from those of others? You seem to enjoy tussling about everything except the main point: HP. Very curious. Really.

You could give any 12 year old boy a copy of Playboy and it too would be read cover to cover.

Sorry, but the analogy doesn't hold up.

First of all, sweeping generalizations like "any 12 year old boy" (sic) are rarely true. Only the foolish would stake out such a position.

Secondly, there is really no logical reason to compare "Playboy" to HP. One is a work of fiction written for children. The other is something totally different; surely I need not elaborate.

You have far too much time and your hands and are in dire need of a reality check.

I believe there are some young people in the world who are going to go to hell because of an interest in the occult due to Harry Potter. JK Rowling will have to answer to God about these young people. If JK Rowling does not believe in Jesus she will go to Hell. So those who do not believe in Jesus WATCH OUT!! You will end up in Hell.

Thanks for the warning, but my God encourages reading.

Sub & ultra sonics.
This technology is specific for targeting "psychological" arenas.
Been around a long, long time....

Blurring the issue is a common tactic.

Making a statement and then slithering out of it is a Clintonian tactic.

My point exactly. So much for the argument that magic "affects the psyche" and technology does not. But facts don't stop the Holy Roller Tinfoil Hat Brigade. . .(g)

You silly man....It's always been a matter of technique. The right tools for the right job at the right time.

Don't tell me you have those 'prove something to the holy rollers' complexes. Look at the big picture and ask yourself, "Who taught me these things?".

Check your source of cultural imagery. What was important for you to remember if encountering the "god" idea? Is the response pattern always the same?

Well, I suppose if you want to own up to slithering out of the point, go right ahead. I wouldn't be rude enought to make such a base comparison, but since you are copping to it, I won't argue.

BTW, I'm still waiting for a response to the *substance* of my translation point.

But, then, that is not as classy or "high cultured" as football. LOL

The main point is that not all Christians agree with you, and you have no business condemning those of us who come to other thoughtful conclusions. It simply isn't your job. *g*

If you can't explain this, Santa Claus or no, then *you* have a much bigger problem than fantasy. Anyone with a personal relationship with JC should be able to handle this question with conviction and ease. It was certainly no issue with my four munchkins.

Shakespear? Perhaps you meant Willie Shakespeare. Better make with the cut and paste again.

I can just imagine what Mark Twain would have to say about this whole HP flap. Our Mr. Clemens' tongue could be a bit waspish towards those he considered needlessly self righteous.

Very strange that you're willing to acknowledge differing spelling and pronunciations but so quick so condemn differing interpretations of ideas. Hmmm... very Freudian.

It refers to ideas or opinions that are considered by some to be SO far out that it illustrates mind control techniques projected from an outside source. Hence the need for a metallic shield to protect our sensitive cranium from alien (usually) influences.

There is an actual website out there that shows how to build a tin-foil beany.

Naturally, some will complain about their inability to purchase 'tin-foil' (due to an un-exposed [except to them] government induced shortage or actual ban on sales to the public) and wonder whether aluminum foil will work. This, then, gets the fringe 'lead' foil people's attention and THEY jump in, claiming that LEAD is a MUCH more effective material in all ways (except for the small poisoning thingy).

It's a major hoot!

{I'm looking for your translation question.............}
