MARJORIE NORTH: Comment Harris campaign kickoff draws area supporters. posted 12/03/01 A soft kickoff of Katherine Harris' bid for Dan Miller's seat in the U.S. House of Representatives ended up being bigger and better than anyone anticipated, especially hosts Jim and Brenda Hoyt, Hillview Street neighbors of Katherine's finance chairman and party co-hosts, Margaret and Bill Wise. Among the guests were Katherine's campaign team -- strategy adviser Dan Berger, event coordinator and scheduler Nancie Kalin with her long-time beau, Chip Parmelee; new press pro Rori Patrice Smith, moving here from Louisiana after the first of the year; Katherine's chief of staff Ben McKay, media consultant Adam Goodman, and serious volunteer Jackie Russell with hubby, Able Band attorney Jeff. Also seen among the several hundred: Dean and Terri Albrecht (Indigo Investments) sharing a quiet moment as Terri, due with the couple's twin daughters in January, relaxed in one of the Hoyt's comfy kitchen chairs, Charles and Heloisa Jennings, who left for Rio the next day, and Marylou Whitney (yes
that Marylou Whitney) in winter white except the multi-carat yellow diamond ring -- a birthday bauble from hubby, John Hendrickson. The Henricksons, by the way, worked with Jeffrey Rodengen on the recently published book about Marylou's late husband, "The Legend of Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney." It's a handsome 187-page book with a foreward by Marylou, highlighted with tons of pictures spanning C.V.'s 93 years of life and the couple's 34 years of marriage. In the news

Sorry. can't agree. No doubt she was unfairly villified. But this person is no friend of the Constitution. This is not a person behind whom I can rally. No friend of democracy, no friend of honor, no friend of truth.

To: Gimlet
I'd like to know why you don't think Katherine is a friend of the consitution. explain yourself please.

I hope Strom is still around to hug HER but I think that's a pipe dream.... ohh yes Strom would love Katherine, as would Lewis Grizzard (though my mom doesn't agree). Is gimlet knew around these parts or is it just me? I can't get the dates to work on profiles.
Katherine is indeed awesome!

Well sorry if I live in MD and don't know who Majorie North is! /snip.
Even Tony Welch admits that Harris will win this race. Harris has lived in Sarasota since 1985. I would like to know why you disapprove of Sec'y Harris?
To: Gimlet
It would be a good idea to back your attack with a few specifics. It might give your position a little credibility.
To: katherineisgreat
Is it your practice to question everyone who does not share your opinion of Harris?? After all it IS a forum for free thought and discussion. Wouldn't it be a boring place around here if we all thought alike? Not everyone adores Harris as you do!

i am well aware of that. I am just seriously wondering why that's all. FR is also a forum for questioning.

However, it would be even better if people actually backed up their assertions with facts.
Asserting that an individual is "no friend of the Constitution" is simply over-the-top billingsgate designed to carry one's assertion by shock value alone. It carries no weight intellectually, however.
Unless, of course, you subscribe to the vituperous ravings of Mary Frances Berry.
Thankfully, I will have the opportunity to drive over to Sarasota and put in some volunteer time for her campaign. Oh, and she will win the damn thing in a landslide. That district is solid Red Zone. They love her over there.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

A DemocRAT beat Katherine Harris? In Sarasota? In Sarasota, where elections are determined by the Republican primary?
What, are the DemocRATS going to import some Palm Beach Conty voters? LOL, they'll get lost trying to find the beach...

THANK YOU!!!!

Katherine, if you could only come to California to send Barbara Boxer back to her commune in Marin.
To: katherineisgreat
I may just drive on down to Florida and vote for her myself a few times.
To: katherineisgreat
Thanks for the ping....KH has great support here in Sarasota but she'll be targeted by the RATs...big time.
We must not become complacent but work hard to get out the voters for Harris & JEB!

No friend of democracy, no friend of honor, no friend of truth. What dream world are you from...Oh I know its Democratic Underground. (Sometimes I wish we censored our site like they(DU)do!)
To: womanvet
Who said anything about a democrat????? There are plenty of Republicans that do not like Harris - even in Sarasota.
