Interesting. Check out: Random Acts Of Kindness For Christmas.I'll believe in Random Acts of Kindness for Christmas (or any other time of year) when I see them happening to me and my parents, instead of only reading about them happening to others.
I barely believe in Christmas at all any more.

I think I'll pass on her column and enjoy Lileks highly amusing phrases like this:
"these worried souls whose columns always make you feel as though youre chewing a damp blanket."

That "so-called" newspaper is also quite fit to start the evening fire with. Unfortunately, my husband actually works at that dreadful, dreadful place. It is a place of deceit, cowardice, extreme bigotry and corrupt management. He is taking early retirement from there soon....like REAL soon...and we are out of here...the Bay Area that is. The Bay Area where I was born and bre...the Bay Area that was once such a beautiful place. Then species such as those at the San Francisco Chronicle took over and ruined everything. By the way, if you think Salter's bad, what do you think of Jon Carroll?

He's really boring.

Well, there's certainly nothing more evil than the whole "repressed memory" industry. I can't blame Salter for that, and I'll bet she wasn't lying in the referenced article.
She's merely full of crap in THIS one.

True, true....

Liberals want it both ways. This one takes the cake. And for her to write as if she was Jesus preaching to others makes me sick.
To: Timesink
>1. She writes in the voice of JESUS.Enough said.
Doing a long "analysis" of her column gives it more respect than it or she deserves.
I'm sure Jesus would say she doesn't deserve to be stoned for this stupid writing. And I'm sure I'm not without sin my own self to go around throwing stones. But I'd throw a rock at her if I could.

I emailed her and asked what Jesus thought of the Clintons stealing silverware from the White House. Wonder if I'll get a reply.

By the way, if you think Salter's bad, what do you think of Jon Carroll? Carroll is worse, IMHO, but not nearly as respected or important in SF circles. I will never forget how he once wrote in a pro-abortion column that "an unwanted child is a wound" that abortion healed.

I heard this leftist trash on the radio this morning. She was being interviewed by another local lefty. The right winger that came on immediately afterwards was just tearing to two lefties apart, it was great.
I'm sure this is a topic for another thread, and I'm sure it's been said before, but what would the peaceniks have us do??!! Should we sit back and say, "ok, you destroyed our buildings and killed our people, we're sorry and we've learned our lesson"?

You know, Gandhis ideas worked because he was up against the British; if hed been up against Nazis or Sovs, he would have been dead in a local police station basement in the first few weeks.LOL

This refutes the original article point by insipid point. The sheer arrogance of some tinhorn agnostic presuming to put words in Christ's mouth ... The empty appeals to charity and compassion, where none exists on the other side of the trench ... The sheer petty emptiness of the presentation ... It all bespeaks either a typically shallow liberal, or a columnist with a hangover and no fresh ideas.

I thought the Salter piece was hilarious. What a comedown it must have been, reduced all the way from liberal columnist to the voice of Jesus.
