Did you believe Bin Laden when he said that he didn't do it? Now that he says he did do it, and he did it because of Israel you believe him?

If Bin Laden did this because of Israel why not claim responsibility and say so right away. If not for our attack on him, this would never have come out, and we wouldn't even have "known" that was the reason for the attacks.

Do you think if the US cut off all ties with Israel, if we stopped the sanctions on Iraq and left Saudi Arabia, what would happen then? You think Bin Laden and his ilk would just pack up "allright, the United States has complied with all my wishes, they are no longer the great Satan, I will now give up my life as a terrorist and become an investment banker".

MadRussian there are some people who hate us. There are some people who we have to fight, there are some people we have to kill before they kill us, we cannot cave in to their demands. I come from a very large family, and a large part of that family is in the military. As of now, none of my friends or family are in harms way in Afghanistan. If this war on terror expands (and I think it will) they will be called up, and they will be put in harms way. You think I want to put my friends and family in danger? I don't. But there are some things worth fighting for. We have no choice but to find these SOB's in whatever God forsaken countries they are hiding and show them what Americans are made of. We will not bow down to the terrorists and their demands. This country will not run in fear of terrorism, we will not turn our back on our allies, and we will not let these evil terrorists dictate our foreign policy.

You call yourself an American patriot. American patriots do not use the words of our sworn enemy to further their agenda. You want the US to stop supporting Israel, do not use Bin Laden to further your goal. I have a good friend who is a staunch Buchananite, he supports the US cutting off all aid to Israel, he would never ever in a million years use Bin Laden to support his claim.

Should be up to 1,000 in a couple of hours. The amount of activity on this subject shows how prevalent a basic lack of what "conservatism" is.

America can't be true to its basic principle of equality for all people and at the same time take sides in tribal wars, or become the world's policeman whether or not the rest of the world likes it or not.

Both courses require extensive military-industrial complexes, equally extensive government and foreign policy infrastructures supported by massive taxes, and centralized decision-making and command infrastructures which completely override any regional or local considerations. Having worldwide plans and courses of action for anything is much closer to Stalinism than for any concept of universal freedom.

As far as Osama himself, his initial politization was during the Afghan jihad against the Soviets. Many of his early comrades were from Egypt, where Anwar Sadat's and Mubarak's governments expelled them from to get rid of a potentially deadly opposition in their midst.

It was after seeing so many of these people being used as cannon fodder by America in its proxy war against the Soviet Union, that Bin Ladin's own beliefs started becoming more radical. America's complete abandonment of the Afghan muj and the country, after the Soviets withdrew in 1989, combined with the American Persian Gulf intervention in 1990 to perserve its oil supply, caused him to conclude there is a hopeless tilt towards the Zionists and away from even people who lost millions fighting our battles.

MadRussian there are some people who hate us

And some of them have fair to middling reasons to.

You manifesto should be plastered everywhere Israel-firsters start their vile propaganda. They would shriek and shrivel like a vampire shown a cross.

Yes, Bin Ladin's first comrades in arms were members of the Egyptian Brotherhood, who were first cosigned as cannon fodder to die in far-off lands as an aftermath of the Camp David "peace" accords between Israel and Egypt.

This is an absolute incontrovertible historical fact, and it is no coincidence that his recent personal assistant was also from Egypt.

Can I ask you whose opinion you represent?

Sure. Strictly my own. I'm in a minority of one.

Omigod! I just realized I'm a minority! I want extra Rights, special laws, hiring preferences, quotas, college funding, subsidized housing, low interest business loans, government funded commissions, programs and my own civil rights group!
I need my own checkbox on census forms. I need reparations! I was abused! I'm a VICTIM!!!

What I meant to ask, where you were coming from. Or what group would have your views. For example, since you said a few good words about JDL, would a member of JDL have views similar to yours.

JDL does not have similar views to mine. They are neither radical nor conservative enough for me.

That said, I do support them. Irv's current legal troubles are the USGOV's pathetic attempt at a frame job to placate CAIR et al. A USGOV spokesman was quoted saying as much.
This is a litmus case against an 'expendable Jew' - one who has no support and visceral contempt from Mainstream Jewry, a minority within a minority.

What a perfect opportunity to test the new laws; how convenient.
