"Bad form?" Inquiring minds want to know, man! Don't keep us in the dark. As an incentive, you might acutally get Freepers to help this Ollie dude, especially if he is less of a stick-in-the-mud as you.

You break down MY door, I get to shoot you! Shoot a cop, get the needle.

It's not exactly the libertarian doctrine. Most libertarians would probably not agree with me as you can see by some of the responses.
I was being a little obtuse.. I know what you meant.. and I see your point. (I also agree, BTW)
I was just making the point that when property right's are an absolute, issues like this can arrise.
And they can push Libertarianism into a kind of grey area.. Something unusual for the Libertarians..
They seem to like everything spelled out in black and white. Nice and crisp and sharp..

Given that you have no profile, how about a little personal information on you?

In short, such a person should be shunned. This is usually enough to curtail such behavior.
I keep looking on LP.org for that fabled "Shun List" but it's never there. Mrs. John Q. Public wants to know where it is, too, so that she can go shopping in peace. "Heavens! Your nametag says 'Mike'? I think there's a bestialphile on my Shun List with the same first name. Is that you? No? Well, maybe I don't trust your answer, and will refrain from buying my crack cocaine in your store from now on, and I'll be sure to complain to the LP.org over your lying to me, too!"

Hey, is it gonna be YOU? Ya better KNOCK POLITELY as I don't differentiate between ANYBODY who tries to knock DOWN my door. And you jackboots always wait til the wee hours and never announce who you are, so that makes you fair game. And NO bag limit.ANYBODY and EVERYBODY making a forced entry into my home is toast! Could be one a them HOME INVASION robberies we hear about ALL the time! A body can't be too careful, these days. Remember, Stupidity SHOULD HURT! Door bashing at my house is STUPID! Anybody wants to knock politely will be treated politely.

Shoot a cop, get the needle. Wrong. The Supreme court has disagreed with that idea on more than one occasion. Cops don't have some special right to aggress against citizens. Quite the opposite is true.

I work in the private sector, in telecom. Never had a government job or consulting contract. I've been an employer, employee, and consultant. I pay way too much in taxes. I'm a registered Republican, and have voted Republican all my life except I could not bring myself to vote for Dole. I'm not single-issue about anything, especially drugs, since wine is as wild as I get for intoxicants. I should be more civic-minded, which is why I admire Roscoe for actively supporting a Black Republican candidate, but Roscoe seems to have trouble taking a compliment.

Cops don't have some special right to aggress against citizens. Citizens with meth labs in their kitchen might have a problem.

Citizens with meth labs in their kitchen might have a problem. Perhaps. It's not really relevant to your broad claim however.

I think you're not being fair. There are many gray areas. Do you really think for instance that if by some miracle libertarians suddenly got their wish and were elected at all levels of government that there would be a run on sheep for the purpose of public beastieality? I mean come on.

Because the Bill of Rights were to be protections from the government from violating a certain subset of every citizen's rights. Then the 9th was thrown in and all rights were protected.
Otherwise, Virginia may have protections against unreasonable searches and seizures and Georgia might not. Or North Carolina would have the right to keep and bear arms and Connecticut might not.
The primary reason for a government is to protect it's citizen's rights. Everything else is pursuant to that purpose.
I would guess they wanted to make sure that the rights of all citizens were protected from all governments. The states constitutions were to lay out the form and function of their own governments, provided it was not in violation of the rights protected by the Bill of Rights.
