Notice the stings from libertarian toleration of evil
This woman's life is valueless according to the libertarian ideologues. Their toleration of evil makes a mockery of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Do you suppose she bothers to vote? Cares who's President? Takes part in political discussions? Pays taxes? Teaches her children right from wrong? Bathes and feeds them? Sends them to school prepared to learn about democracy and freedom, rights and responsibilities? Is competent to be her own medical doctor and advisor?

I don't aprove of the siezure of property of a person who didn't know their property was being used in drug use or sales. And what is your opinion of seizing the property of citizens who have not been convicted or charged with a crime?
To: Cultural Jihad
What is our society to them?
An obstacle to be overcome, institutions to crushed, voices to be imprisoned.
All in the name of their curious perversion of "freedom."

I'm concerned about drug users being 70% of the violent crimes in America. I am not PRO-SELF-ILLEGAL_MEDICATING. Are you?
I don't think the commerce clause has caused any violent crimes yet.
To: Cultural Jihad
How do their views relate to that horrible picture? I missed that.

I'm concerned about drug users being 70% of the violent crimes in America. There are more alcoholics than drug addicts, so why aren't they committing crimes? Could it possibly have something to do with the black market in drugs, where disputes can only be settled with violence? When was the last time you heard about a shootout between rival beer distributors?

I'm not the one sounding like Archie Bunker every thread David. You are.
I have no desire to read your book sized article that you linked me to. Why don't you give a brief accout without cussing if you can? Thank you. If it is PRO-ILLEGAL-DRUGS though, it would be EVIL!

If there is authorization to sieze property of drug people caught red handed, then goodie! I don't think a landlord who doesn't know anything shouldn't lose their property. But anybody found with drugs that are illegal should have the property they were in taken. Why not? If it finances enforcement great. After all 70% of violent crime was just reported as coming from illegal drug users on Fox news just now.
To: ThinkDifferent
No there are not. They would have to be less than the 70% that are illegal drug users reported as being responsible for violent crime as just reported on by Fox news. Haven't you heard that there are laws that make drunk driving against the law and throws them in jail also? Whoopie!
To: ThinkDifferent
And what is your opinion of seizing the property of citizens who have not been convicted or charged with a crime? In California, if you loan your car to someone who is stopped driving it without a valid license, your car is seized and impounded for 30 days.
To: A CA Guy
But anybody found with drugs that are illegal should have the property they were in taken. Why not? First, there's that Constitution thingy. If you want to punish someone, convict him of a crime first. Second, law enforcement is not supposed to be a profit center. Do you honestly not see how this is an open invitation to abuse?

accout = account

Whoopie!

Haven't you heard that there are laws that make drunk driving against the law and throws them in jail also? Yes, and I fully support those laws; they should be the basis for dealing with drug users as well. Maybe then violent crime committed by currently-illegal drug users would fall to be more in line with crime committed by alcohol users.
To: ThinkDifferent
Well they took care of that and wrote a law saying that people forfeit their property if they are caught with illegal drugs. If you don't like the law, challenge it in court. It is the law now or somebody who lost property could have lost their home.

In California, if you loan your car to someone who is stopped driving it without a valid license, your car is seized and impounded for 30 days. One unreasonable punishment does not justify another.
To: A CA Guy
Yep. You're not convicted of any crime, but you're held responsible for how your vehicle is used.
I don't think some of these guys grok responsibility.
