Being considered an idiot by Howard Stern is pretty bad.

How hard is it for Penn? He could phone that role in.

Penn, who earned himself a reputation as a hellraiser during the 1980s, said he hated the Academy Awards ceremony and did not care if he ever won an Oscar.

I can relate. I don't care if I ever win an Oscar, either. Of course, I'm not an actor, but I figure I've got a better chance than he does...

For the record, Stern's TV ratings have been in the toilet for awhile now. His show has recently been cancelled in several markets. I bet he would LOVE to have Sean Penn on.

I am curious, why did Harrison hate Penn? I think Penn has gone past the point of being "almost" irrelevant.

Penn definitely picked on the wrong person. Now he can enjoy being blasted for hours on end by Stern. All that Penn can do is issue a short press release through his PR person and hope someone pays attention.

How did he screw over George Harrison??

He made that movie with Madonna in the 80's, what was it, Shanhi Surprise (?) or something like that. Anyway it bombed really bad, and Penn was a d*ck to Harrison during the whole thing. Harrison never forgave him.

If you don't recognize the name, it must be because you have good taste. Sean Penn has appeared as an actor in a number or movies. His second claim to fame is selecting America's favorite tramp, Madonna, for his wife.

Sean Penn is not ALMOST irrelevant. He IS irrelevant.

He's a wife beater, womanizer and a narcissist. (Sounds like I'm discribing Billy Boy. Touche.)

I'd love to see him say this crap to one of our soliders holding an AKA47.

New York is about as much a part of "real America" as the surface of Mars. It is filled with illegal aliens, unassimilated foreigners, perverts, and extreme far left socialists and liberals.

Barry Goldwater was right - cut it off and let it drift out to sea. With any luck that phoney Republican Rino Rudy Guliani will float away with it.

SHANGHI SURPRISE was produced by George's company HANDMADE FILMS which also produced MONTY PYTHON & THE LIFE OF BRIAN, THE LONG GOOD FRIDAY, MONA LISA and WITHNAIL & I.

Penn and Madonna were brats on the set and the film eventually sunk HANDMADE FILMS, which up until that point was producing cutting edge British cinema.

Thanks New York. For your "Blue Zone" morality.

I'm no particular fan of Stern's, but I suggest that the rest of the nation is responsible for their own morality. If those in the "Red Zone" are buying, turning on and listening to Stern's show, that's their own choice. "New York" is not forcing them to do so.

Stern said Penn isn't in a position to be criticizing others. "I've heard terrible things about what he did to [ex-wife] Madonna, being abusive and tying her up," Stern claimed. "This is a horrible human being who should keep a low profile."

Had the same reaction myself.

I am not much on movies! I quit watching most movies back in the '70s.

I've heard a lot about Madonna but I could pick her out of a line up.

In a line-up, Madonna would be the one who looks like a cheap, washed out fifty dollar hooker wearing a ten thousand dollar Hollywood gown (but then a lot of those other movie stars do too!!)
