In the early 1990s, Enron struck several deals to build and operate power plants in the Philippines, including a small plant in Subic Bay abandoned by the US military. In those deals, according to a 1995 article in Inter Press Service, Enron was aided by US Ambassador Frank Wisner Jr and officials from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), who "provided Enron with key data on the risks of the project and strategies of possible competitors".

Wisner, who was US ambassador to India when Enron became involved in the Dabhol project, was appointed to the Enron board of directors in 1997. Wisner, as many historians of US intelligence know, is the son of the infamous Frank Wisner Sr, who was a top CIA operative until he committed suicide in 1965. He distinguished himself in two US-supported coups in the 1950s that later came back to haunt US diplomacy: the overthrow of the Arbenz government in Guatemala and the Mossadeq government in Iran

The only record I see getting broken is YOURS in the number of times you have RUN from answering these simple questions I ask. And YOU are the one OBSESSED with Clinton. Like I've said before (and to which people like you NEVER respond), this isn't just about Bill Clinton. It is about an entire party (YOURS) gone BAD ... it is about DOZENS of democRATS in leadership positions who committed serious crimes (like election tampering, treason and MURDER) ... it about that party and the liberal media apparently BLACKMAILING the other party into inaction with regards to those crimes. But you never want to talk about those other criminals, do you. You'd RATHER this just be about Bill ... the master of SPIN.

The (Enron) parent company lists its largest unsecured creditor as Citigroup (nyse: C - news - people) unit Citibank, to whom it owes $3 billion. It also owes the Bank of New York (nyse: BK - news - people) $2 billion and Chase Manhattan Bank, a unit of J.P. Morgan Chase (nyse: JPM - news - people), $1.9 billion. In addition, Enron lists a trade debt owed to Arthur Andersen, its auditor, of $2 billion. The auditor, of course, will be a defendant in lawsuits for much more than it is owed.

Discrepancies in the Death of Cliff Baxter

Contrary to the statements of the Sugar Land Police Department, it was not two Sugar Land police officers but one of Hal Werlein's Deputy Constables who discovered the former Enron executive slumped behind the wheel of his new Mercedes sedan, parked just inside the Sweetwater development where Baxter and his family lived, in much the poshest part of town.

"Our Constable’s office has a contract deputy program which provides private security guards for the Sweetwater homeowner’s association, and it was one of these men who discovered Mr. Baxter," Werlein told us.

"The report I got from my Deputy Constable there on the scene stated he had come upon a Mercedes sitting parked in a turnout. He became suspicious and approached the vehicle, where he found Baxter still alive. He then immediately called for EMT’s (Emergency Medical Technicians)."

Sugar Land police spokesmen didn't know the caliber of the gun, were unsure of the make of the car, or if a bullet was found, or where the gun was. But--and thank god!--they DID know that there were "no apparent signs of foul play."

Nice digging.

Not sure if it's been posted on FR elsewhere, but here's a link to the Baxter autopsy report.

And here's a link to Dan Hopsicker's piece on Baxter The Surgarland Sanction, which I found to be very enlightening.

Not much Enron news lately, not since FOB's started showing up in the sex parties list.

Nothing to see here folks, MOVE along.

If in fact and in truth there is a documentable miscegenational relationship between Enron and Federal spooks, this thing could become very interesting. Some of the "missing" Enron money could have been extracted to pay for the blackest of black ops. And if real deal spooks are involved - do they have expertise in deniably whacking inconveniently knowledgeable people?
