Air and Thought

Air and Thought

All day I dreamed I'd rather be someplace
The air is still and quiet. Some tranquil scene,
Some peaceful seat, where I might savor grace--
How likely that my heart would be serene?

I'd know her laughing footfalls coming there
And I would feel her shadow's cool caress,
Then I would smell the darkness of her hair.
Ahh… Now I hear the rustle of her dress…

She sits, and with each breath, each word, I take
In from her lips, I share her air and thought.
My eyes sip sunlight splashing her, and slake,
For now, a thirst in me… unquenched… unsought.

Intentions blush; our timid joys are met.
Though I am touched, shall I touch her? Not yet.

Are you smitten?

I love that word. People don't distinguish that emotion as often as they feel it, confusing it with something more. I've even got an unfinished song by that name...

Perhaps this is a sign?

I've always wanted to go to a Poetry reading and snap my fingers after each poem was read. Then after the readings I'd listen to Bob Dylan music and sip on espresso but Uncle Sam had different plans from me in 1968.

I can relate!! LOL. The first record I ever owned was a Bob Dylan album. I always liked his poetry/lyrics. I never was a hippie though. Now I have tickets to see him for the first time, at the Houston Rodeo in a few weeks. Who'd a thunk it? I'm really excited, looking forward to it.
