Attention South Florida Freepers! This is a great opportunity for a Peter Jennings FREEPING tomorrow night IF you can get yourself invited to this meeting. Remember, this meeting will be carried LIVE on channel 10. My recommendation is that you pass yourselves off as liberals so that you will be chosen to participate at this meeting. (A prosthetic ponytail for mail Freepers would be a good liberal disguise.)

Do you have any suggestions for questions to be asked by Freepers tomorrow night? Here a few that I would suggest:

1. Why did you act so angry when in December 2000 when Katherine Harris followed the law and certified that George Bush had won Florida in the Presidential election?

2. Do you feel foolish for paraphrasing Bush's call in September, "Let's Roll," as "Let Us Roll"?

3. Are you going to get a G.E.D.?

4. What are the titles of the last 5 books that you have read?

5. Do you think you will interview Robert Higgins again?

I have two:

1) Where'd you get that silly, left-lurching brain?

2) Where'd you get that silly, phony-@$$ accent?

Suggestion: a person must first submit a soft question, in order to be chosen for the chance to ask a hard one.

So if we go should we submit something like, "Why isn't Bush criticized more for his unprogressive tax policies?" Is this some sort of hoop we have to jump through before we can ask our REAL question?

Oh yea, I remember the "free access" they had in VietNam and look at what we got. I'd read stories about incidents in my area that were totally blown out of proportion. Pretty Boy Jennings is only upset that he's not getting the attention he used to get, not to mention the $$$.

Hey Luis! If you go to this town meeting tomorrow night (better pass yourself off as a "progressive" Puerto Rican upset by the "rightwing" Cubans), ask Peter Jennings why he displayed editorial bias about Elian Gonzalez in the quote below from his newscast during the 2000 Elian standoff:

"Good evening. In Miami today immigration officials met with the Miami relatives of Elian Gonzalez again and once again the government has failed to get the kind of cooperation from the relatives that might allow the case of this young boy to end in a civilized manner that is best for him."

He's hosting town meetings in Detroit and Atlanta this week as well as Miami to hear what ordinary people think...

Ummmm, is this like Hillary's listening tour of NY? Is Jennings really interested in what the little people think? Seems to me he's trying to show the rabble the error of their ways. Reminds me of countless Human Resources meetings I've been to at work. They ask you for your opinions and then spend the rest of the time explaining why you are wrong to feel the way you do about how you're being treated. My brain always feels so fresh and new after those sessions.

Tell them you're a lifelong Republican who may vote Democratic in 2002 because of Enron!

"Mr. Jennings, one of the best selling books today is Bias by Bernard Goldberg. Why do you think Bias has struck such a responsive chord with the American people?"

My recommendation is that some FReepers demonstrate outside the event against Jennings and the liberal bias in his reporting. You'll have a much better chance of being seen and heard. (And you'll have more fun.)

He's of Canadian origin, I think.

No. This is just a desperate PR attempt to keep ABC News ratings from hemorraging even more over to Fox News.

Give it a shot. But remember, in order to participate you have to either portray yourself as a liberal or as a Republican who is "disturbed" about Enron. Once you get into that meeting you can then ask your REAL question. I'll be taping that show in case any Freeper makes it through the PC hoops.

Methinks you are right. This is eerily similar to the Bill Maher apology tour, isn't it?

Maybe this is how ABC punishes those who lose viewers.

Good idea.

They should all bring copies of "Bias" and ask Peter Jennings to sign them.

He STILL is a Canadian. That's why he constantly displays that typically Canadian holier-than-thou attitude as he reads our nightly news to us.

"Mr. Jennings, after all these years of living and working as a well-documented alien, do you ever intend to rise to the level of American Citizen?"
