The only thing that makes sense here is the father called the alarm company and told them it was a false alarm. Otherwise they would have either send somebody out,or called the cops.
I think we can all agree that if you wake up in the middle of the night to find a door open and that your alarm was tripped, and you don't check your children (the girl being a sleepwalker, no less) to see if they're OK, that is not the most parentally responsible act, wouldn't you say?

Absolutely agree 100% here. This should be as automatic as putting your pants or glasses on. It's inexcuseable that he didn't check on them.
No,I've got a huge chip on my shoulder when it comes to seeing people try to compare/equate consesual adult hetrosexual sex acts with hetrosexual or homosexual child rape and murder. And when it comes to sex with a child,it is ALWAYS rape.
Not only that,but most of us prefer to charm a woman into having sex with us,not beat or choke her into submission.
I'm not making that arguement because I don't care one way or the other about swinging. What I do care about is protecting children,not trying to make cheap political points off their fear and suffering.
Number one, this is an allegation made by a talk show host from "unnamed sources" it has about as much credibility as a Clinton denial. Number 2, and I remind you, the accusations that these parents have lied or decieved the police thus far have not had any merit, they both took lie detector tests and passed them within 24 hours of the child going missing. Number 3, I am not arguing bring strangers into ones home is a risk, with or without children. However there is NO EVIDENCE that these parents have done anything wrong, and it is despicable to watch such mob mentality in action. I said before I will say it again, if they did something that placed their child at risk I will be the first to condemn them, however being a "swinger" should this unsubstantiated allegation turn out to be true, does not by default make one a bad parent, no more than going to a bar by default does. I see a lot of assumptions, mob mentality and rumor... I see nothing of facts here.

The operative word in that sentence is MAY it is a shame that many here, and apparently yourself, have turned that "MAY" into DID.... When there is nothing of factual basis to even support the parents even are swingers in the first place, much less that if they are that it contributed to their child's disappearance. Those of us who understand the meaning of the word MAY and MIGHT do not jump to conclusions by assuming they mean "DID".
If these parents DID place their children at risk, I will condemn them for it. But I am not going to do so based on some talk show host and internet prattle.

This is one of my most favorite Bible passages. The picture so often presented of the Lord Jesus Christ, is the gentle Savior...and so He is for those who receive the salvation He offers..
However, after His triumph, and ascent to Heaven, his disciples did not call Him Jesus...but Lord Jesus. How often it is forgotten that the last picture we have of the Lord Jesus Christ is in Revelation 19. I never forgot...He is my Savior...but to His enemies, His robe is dipped in blood.
He is NOT the coming King...but the King who will come again.

Mom and Dad have kids. Mom and Dad have multiple sex partners within confines of their marriage. Kids find out. Kids wonder why Mom and Dad do such things. Why does Mom do things with other men that the church teaches is wrong? Why does Dad do the same. Little kids really confused now. Screwed up real good. As long as we are being judgemental about parents whose lifestyle choices endanger their children's lives, I say that we take kids from those parents who will not allow medical treatment for them based on religious beliefs.

I find the loops and turns this thread has taken somewhat curious. This sentence you wrote struck a chord with me..taking me back to just about where the loops and turns of this thread began.
My original question on the whole thing, was how could a lifestyle that parents felt compelled to hide or conceal from their children, be defensible? I asserted that a lifestyle that needs to be hidden from one's children is a lifestyle that calls for a re-examination.
You said that the child ran away when she found out her parents were perverts. I said that a child is fantastice at seeing and hearing things that parents would rather they not hear and see. I said there is usually consequences when the child discovers that Mom and Dad have presented them with a false facade..most often a feeling of betrayal, anger and alienation.
Those that defend and those that oppose marital "swinging" all seem to acknowlege that it is not healthy for the children of that marriage...
This is the only logical reason why parents would want to conceal it from their children....no matter how much they may defend it. In the end...they do not want their children to know.
If these parents engage in the swinging lifestyle, I am sure that a good part of the reason why they have neither ackowleged it or denied it, is that they do not want their two sons to know about it. Fat chance of that. If the sons have been going to school during this difficult time, they have probably heard all about it by now.
Very sad for those boys and that little girl who is probably long dead, by now.
