Recorded vote coming up on the Watts Amendment...

First amendment from our side was presented by Henry Hyde and dealt with the first amendment. Second amendment brought up on side dealt with the second amendment...This amendment was about civil rights...I don't know what the other amendments will be...

Bush is playing a poker game. Keeping the Reformers/Socialists guessing about what he'll do. But he said he'd sign a reasonable bill. So far, I don't think this bill is reasonable...

Boy, I hope you're right. This bill is awful...and insulting, to boot.

There's no way to be sure...As someone said earlier, he is trying to get Congress to do their job. If they are so deadset on Campaign Reform, then they've gotta hash it out and send it to him. We've gotta let Congress know what we think - while we still can!!!

Yes we are. Its what's called a thrown game right? You don't need to bother waiting for the results. You know what the votes are gonna be even before they've been cast. Its a foregone conclusion.

The 10 points miss the essential issue, and are thus to some extent creating a strawman and knocking it down. We do all know what the central issue is here don't we?

I have such little faith in the people who represent our citizens in Congresss that I am absolutely sure that 420 of the 435 House members voting on this issue have spent 1/100th of the time that you have analyzing the ramifications of the bill.

They have no idea what they're voting on. They care only about their hometown papers and their November election. Parliament of Whores.

Of course. Its giving congresscritters the right to lord it over the rest of us. And they're not even bothering to pretend its for the people or even for the children, for that matter.

The central issue is whether or not the federal government will regulate political speech in open defiance of the First Amendment to the Constitution.

They already erased that and the Second Amendment and they'd be too happy to junk the rest of the bill of rights if it helped their quest for absolute power. They're drunk right now with the heady sensation that comes with knowing that at this stage, they're unstoppable.
