In Texas? Here in CA, I haven't been able to find a single exit poll result. Either they must be afraid that the data will influence voters, or they don't care about this election much, since many statewide democratic nominations may be won by their incumbents.

I wish they would just give exit poll data (without media projections for who will win, which was done in Florida '00), perhaps with a disclaimer if they were so worried. We don't have 2 time zones like Fla.

Don't think so. If I recall correctly, it was just a gentlemen's agreement among the networks and the parties after 1980 when Carter conceeded the race before west coast polls closed.

They can't report hard numbers til AFTER the polls are closed. But the campaigns can leak exit poll projections before the polls close and these are usually pretty much on target. Its the latter codebreaker's been posting up til now.

There are reports that GOP ballots haven't been deliverd to some precincts. Some others have lines to use the one or two GOP booths. At least one indy FReeper in OC complained that they weren't allowed a GOP ballot as they should have been.

I didn't get to choose - I was given the republican ballot because I am registered as a repub. They had 3 ballots. Repub, dem and ind. Each one was a different ballot. I didn't look at the other 2; I just voted with the ballot they gave me. They did spend some time with each person when they turned in their ballot though - they made me check my ballot to make sure we didn't have any "hanging chads" - the gal I talked to said she was going to hang a sign which said - THIS IS NOT FLORA-DUH!!
